    ** 2015 Tacoma TRD PRO ACCESS CAB 4X4 V6 **

This is odd. I have two on order from two dealers. They BOTH say:

"V6 Tow Package for Off Road Package " $650 under the OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT.

    • Class-IV Towing Receiver Hitch
    • Transmission Oil Cooler (Auto Only)
    • Engine Oil Cooler
    • 130a Alternator
    • Heavy Duty Battery
    • 7-Pin Connector w/converter
    • Trailer Say Bar

This is on my Tacoma Pro sheet the tow package is $650.

Are you telling me that it will arrive without it?

Ok, I stand corrected. I was using two different trainig sources and they both say that the Tow Package isn't available. So I took it a step further and went to the locate screen and there are 8 coming in to the southeast WITH THE TOW PACKAGE!!

SO I AM SO SO SO SO SO SORRY for being "that guy" lol! I'm gunna dig a lil further on Monday w/ our Inventory manager and double double check lol!

I'm PISSED that this TRAINING material is ALL WRONG!!!

This is getting interesting. Has anyone seen or have a picture of a TRD Pro WITH the tow package? Any of you Pro owners? Anyone? I'm not buying one or anything. But this is just crazy.

Those are not acceptable either. All three vehicles are unacceptably clunky. However, there is a fix to it. There is a fix to that issue. The clunkiness you are experiencing is due to an intermediate shaft which is exposed too far into the cabin. In order to fix it you need to unbolt the shaft at the sleeve which grips on it behind the wheel well engine compartment skirt and move the shaft until you can only see about 2-3 mm of exposed shaft inside of the steering column in the cabin. I will provide pictures later for you to see and no it will not void the warranty.

I think the OEM's are not great on the freeway. It takes longer than the Sport or OR. I'm considering putting in TRD brakes eventually.

Vijay, I picked mine up on Sept. 4th, Same configuration as yours. Have you had the clunky steering issue when off-road bumpy surface? I am in a struggle with Toyota to fix the steering column. They simply won't....If you experience this, join the movement pls...

If you like the way your steering clunks now you are really going to like it in a few hundred or a couple of thousand miles. It is only going to get worse.

Your steering components are the same as on my '14 TRD Off Road and by 800 miles mine was clunking so bad I could not take it any more.

Toyota is so full of it. They issued a TSB for this in 2010 and then reissued it again in 2012 to include models through 2012. The current TSB is T-SB-0057-12 and is a redesigned intermediate shaft. Problem is the TSB has not been reissued for 2013-2015 models. Now get this. From the time the original TSB was issued in 2010 they have been using the non-TSB shaft on new production models which forces us to do our own fix by purchasing the TSB shaft.

Moving the intermediate shaft forward a bit as described above is part of the fix but my intermediate shaft was shot and my fix required installing the new TSB shaft and slightly moving the shaft forward. I also did this fix on my '09 about 4 years ago and have been happy with it.

Taco '09, can't thank you enough for this info. WOW....I will most likely try this route soon. Today I sent a letter to Toyota describing how their customer care for a new vehicle with this problem has been completely dissatisfactory.

I have found the brakes on my 12 Sport to be nothing short of exceptional for a truck. They have always provided me great stopping power and distance, even when hard wheeling it. I see absolutely no need to upgrade anything at all in the brake systems on these, but that's just me.

Thanks for posting it! The dealer I have been working with said the one they are getting has the full tow package so this confirms it.....now if they follow through and actually get the thing it seems I will be getting an Inferno 4drsb auto with factory tow package for 40,700 out the door (California)...works out to about $1500 off the MSRP of 38,950 (38,300 + $650 for Tow Pkg)......so about $37,500 or so actual cost before TL & such....then again I'll believe it when I have the keys in hand. This is the only dealer I have found that would give any discount off of MSRP and has since said they won't be doing it again....seems they are going to stick by the quoted price but have figured out it was a mistake on their part. Most dealers out here don't seem to have a clue what a TRD Pro even is!

no additional coolers, not even one for the engine oil?? that's honestly upsetting to me, and if you wanted to add that on yourself it costs a pretty penny... and if only 8 are being shipped with the tow package, those are going to be some VERY RARE birds... idk why toyota just hasnt made the V6 tow package standard equipment yet on ALL V6 tacomas regardless of them being a TRDpro or not.. those coolers and higher output alternator alone are worth 3 times their weight in gold to a person like me lol.

It would be interesting to find out if the ones with the added on hitch have the wiring installed where you could add the 7 pin connector. The ones with the factory tow also have a connector in the cabin to plug a brake controller into so it is a plug and play thing with a small adapter cable that you can get with your Brake Controller. Factory tow also has "Sway Control"...not sure what that is, but assume it is another computer function that helps control trailer sway. So there is a lot that comes with the Factory Tow Package, it is not simply a hitch and a plug....

Can you even order the tow package with a manual transmission? I believe the cooler is for the Automatic Transmission fluid.

edit:Yes, Manual 6spd with tow pkg has an engine oil cooler. Yes, both TRD Sport, and TRD Off Road packages come with Tow Pkg as Standard. TRD T/X Pro model is based on upgrades to TRD OR model. No idea if it comes w/ tow pkg.
