Noob Question-Map Lamp Replacement

Do you just have to take the map light lense off to replace the light bulb?

 

I did some additional searching this morning and stumbled across this thread.

I have a hard time with you need to take down the overhead console to replace the bulb.

I really just do not want to break the lense to replace the bulb. It seems the lense should just pop off. I tried to pry it off but was afraid I would break the lense.

 

The MAP lights are a 'button' - which might be designed differently than a standard lens/light. I honestly don't know for sure.

Taking the overhead console down is SIMPLE. Why not take it down and poke around a bit before trying to poke & pry at the lenses?

 

just use a small flat srew driver and they pot open

 

You do not have to take out the console to change these bulbs. The lenses pop off using a eyeglass screw driver.
