    General question.
If I remove and replace a fuel line from tank to carb, should the line self prime? The carb bowl is full and the line will not fill with gas unless I squeeze it a bunch of times.
I would think that the pressure of the gas from the tank should coax the air up and into the tank. I was not a physics major.

I ask because the bike died from lack of fuel the other day. It was a clogged inline fuel filter. Or so my buddy says.
    Thanks,

Yes gravity should send the fuel into the bowl, unless you have a bad fuel line.

Watched it online. Super disappointed he didn't smoke them all. That five hundo was a rocket ship in that last section! I'm also very surprised he didn't win the holeshot at launch. I wonder if the motor was tuned for the top end or something, because my CR500 with a mild port job launched off the line and would eat any of the 450's alive in a drag race. I never liked the way the power came on with the RM250 two strokes...would love to ride the 'zilla and see if it's similar.

yea same here. i was super bummed he didnt make it against james.. That thing sounded soooo mean when he was behind the gate haha. as you mentioned he would turn it on through the whoops/rollers at the end was crazy. you can really see the power advantage. Ive always wanted a 500 but i think id hurt myself even more than i did on a 125 2s

Nah, don't be scared of the half liter thumper eater. The CR500 is like a tractor. The KX500 is more top end, but still easy to handle. A 125cc bike hits harder than a big bore, but a big bore bike has some torque that just keeps pulling...

i just like to go fast... hahah. having the beach right near my house and all the bros with "fast as shit trucks" will not be to happy when i pass on a bike...

from what i read his bike was a kx500 engine.. soo maybe thats why he wasnt launching as good as he couldve? i dont really know how much more noticeable it would be to a cr

look what i just found on CL

Hah. Your truck, like mine, will never be finished. Years from now, there will be a pile of trophy truck parts with a toyota emblem stuck to them in the garage. :D

I built my own AF500 and its a blast! But I dont think a girl could ride it without having an orgasm, thing vibrates like hell, lol.

However its my playbike and so much fun, handles like a 250 and when you twist the throttle better have it pointed in the right direction!
But in the end I am not sure which bike is faster, my 2013 Factory Kawasaki KX450f or my AF500, pretty close, the AF is lighter for sure, but the sheer grunt of a properly tuned fuel injected racebike is pretty wicked too.

And on the truck thing, thats why I kept mine a street truck and just put an LS1 in it with a T56 trans. Sleeper. For Off-Road I take my fully built Jeep TJ out. Its a billy goat that likes to run fast!

I know all about that rabbit hole you guys are chasing, I do it to others guys trucks all the time. Remember do it once do it right, dont do it 3 times cause you cant afford it. Thats a sentence to live by!

I have the same trialer, lol.

My race report from the 100s MC national hare and Hound.
Bomb rum wasnt that great, after that I got going good and started picking people off, then I lost 5th gear (trans failure) kept on passing people, eventually got lost and lost my lead. Got back on track and started passing AGAIN! Got back up to 4th and then I broke off my rear brake pedal tip!

Made the nasty downhills much more exciting! Ended up 4th OA Sen "B", missed the podium by 1.5 minutes!!

One more transfer to start racing "A" class next weekend will be my last "B" race, gonna be a while till I get more trophies, the "A" guys haul the mail. I usually finish within the top ten A guys so I gotta step it up, top ten aint gonna cut it!

OK my 13' KX450f is down with worn clutches, the YZ295 broke 5th gear, so looks like I am gonna race the AF500 this Sunday!
I hope I dont run out of gas before I finish the first loop! She's a thirsty beast!

Havent raced the AF500 yet due to fuel mileage, its HORRIBLE and most of our loops are 40+ miles this one is only 35 so I should be OK depending on how much throttle I give as well as how many Fucks given during the course of the race, lol.

I am gonna get my GoPro ready for this one possibly, if I get some video I will be posting it next week.

I could drain a 4 gallon tank in an hour at race pace on my CR500 GSS race motor in the desert, so about 12 MPG or so. It would also destroy a new tire in one tank of gas. :D

I hope so! My last reace went HORRIBLE on the KX, It didnt fire on the first kick so I was screwed, ended up in fucking 3rd! Boo. In dead engine start racing it better start first kick! Well it didnt, my 2 strokes always start first kick, should be fun!

Yeah its gonna get some bad mileage, I have a 2.7 gallon tank so hopefully we shall see what happens. I have it geared really tall (about 100mph) so that should help keep the RPMs down enough to squeak by! Only one way to find out!!
