There are people with aids who have sex and find the most pleasure giving it to someone else.

no he said anyone who INTENTIONALLY negatively impacts someone else's life. Prison guards aren't there to negatively impact prisoner's lives, they're they to make sure the prisoners don't negatively impact our lives.

The dallas guy intentionally put 300 million lives in danger because he didn't want to spend 3 weeks in a disease ridden nation that he VOLUNTEERED to go to. He VOLUNTARILY exposed himself to a very deadly virus and then VOLUNTARILY circumvented safeguards, pathetic as they were, and exposed a nation to that virus. I didn't want to be exposed, did you? No, I didn't think so. Sure everyone thought he was a good person, going over to Africa to help, until he had enough of the sick, poor people, and thought only of himself at that point. He exposed millions so that he could have slightly better care than those he "helped" and that is more than the definition of scum.

You're looking at the numbers wrong. Everyone is not focusing on the country's population because it has no bearing. They're focusing on the fact that 70% of the people who have gotten this virus have died. 1.111billion people have not contracted this virus, only 5,000 have, and of those 3,300 have died. If 1,111,000,000 people contract this virus, then 777,700,000 people will die. Think of 10 people you know personally, if they all get ebola 7 of them will die. And unlike the aids problem in africa, which takes YEARS to kill you, ebola kills you painfully in a matter of weeks, and can still be spread for weeks after you are dead.

I suspect Africa, as a noted developing or coined 3rd World Country would have less opportunity to treat the infected persons as a more medically efficient advanced Nation would. Therefore, I would guess the 70% death rate does not apply to 10 of my or your friends. :notsure:

Even if you knocked that down to 30-40% the numbers are still something modern day american's would be incapable of handling. As for better healthcare. Treatment of ebola is only supportive care. This basically means an I.V., ice packs for fever, and wait. And considering we're number 10 on healthcare, yet number 1 on healthcare costs, I'm not even sure we can count on them to do that...

Sad to think of Africa as a 3rd world country. The amount of money poured in there with African hunts, diamond mines, etc. Just lines someones pockets.

It is truly the dark continent. The unfortunate truth is that most of Africa has an artificial population. This is one of the many tools mother nature uses to check that population. What I mean is that Westerners pour millions of dollars and millions of tons of rice into that place, increasing fertility rates and artificially increasing the population. The byproduct of this is resources spread thin. Africans would be better off not taking any aid, and finding a sustainable, healthy population level.

Look at what happened with the Dallas patient. Was sent home with some simple antibiotics during his first trip to the ER. Even after stated that he had traveled from West Africa. That should have sounded the alarm and raised the red flags.

And this happened in a major city with a population of folks who travel regularly to the region. Imagine what happens if a patient presents in a place like an urgent care/family practice where they are used to treating colds and flu?

Here's an interview with the discoverer of Ebola. It's worth reading.

    So passively kill them then?

You do realize the whole world has an "artificial population", right? Should we just drop all heathcare and let nature take its course in both developed and developing regions to bring the earth back to sustainable numbers?

Africa is in a really awful position.

People give them food and this cripples the native farmers. They simply can't compete with free food coming into the region. It's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation.

That's not mentioning the shit loads of infrastructure left to rot or purposely destroyed when European countries left by the natives.
