So I know there is a general Hunting thread here on TW, however I am wondering if we have any hunters here in the 805 that would like to connect up. I am planning to hunt D13 this year and will try to learn more about the CA zones and special hunts before licenses go on sale next year.

Jordan, are you hunting this year? I am trying to learn all I can about the bogus system Ca has for drawing tags and finding places to hunt. I have never hunted ducks or other water fowl but would be open to learning. I have base access as a retired Sailor and hear that duck hunting at Pt. Mugu is really good... Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!

Local pig was kind enough to write me a ticket on the truck at 3:30 AM last night, while it was parked, for tint and fenders/mudflaps. Took time off of "protecting and serving" to write a special ticket off on a "notice of parking registration violation". Never had a problem driving the truck to and from school for months.

wow the police in iv are really cracking down on offroad trucks. my buddy got a icket for uncovered led bars no front plate and no rear bumper. so word to the wise if your going into iv with anything of questionable legality turn around and go in with a different vehicle

I would be interested as well. Been learning about the zones, and where are good spots to go. Looking to do a TW hunting meet?

Ya he only had the hitch attached. He ended up bolting something like a piece of a bed frameso like a dinky ass piece of square tubing and they wrote it off after he put that on:rolleyes:

I'm still trying to figure out the tag situation and I've live here my whole life. Basically you can buy an A zone tag, which is our area. Only thing is there isn't a large public area to hunt. Most of the deer hunts I do are on private land. As far as duck, I've head Mugu is epic but never been.

Devin and Jordan, I just bought my license last week and was told all the A zone tags were gone... I am happy to try to see about a duck hunt at Mugu and what it takes to bring guests. I would need someone to teach me the ways... I have a shotgun but have never hunted ducks.

Jordan, do you hunt deer on your own land or land that you could potentially bring a newcomer or 2...? I am going to try to draw a Vandenberg tag next year... I can hunt pig there but I heard that the draught has taken a toll on the population...

I am down for setting up a TW hunt if there is enough interest. I found a nice small stream still flowing in D-13 yesterday while I was doing some scouting so I may be able to have better success this year. If one or both of you want to connect up and hunt D13 with me I would be happy to share some of scouting work..
