    I like the way my DC looks better than my AC but now with a DC I'm hauling the in-laws around more than anything else.

    I love my DC... that said, if I was just buying it for me to go back and forth and not to serve as the family's camping hauler, I would've probably gone RC.

    Would you really give up having a DC for a reg cab, which means you go from having an avail V6 to I4 only?

    The I4 is as reliable as all get out, but as someone who just went from 2.7 to 4.0 I could never go back to the I4. That poor truck just flat out could not maintain stamina up hills or grades, and it was a chore to just keep up with appliance cars like 4-banger Camry's, Elantra's and CR-V's. The milage between the two was nearly the same, for having to take a major penalty with acceleration.

    Now just to dream a little.... A reg cab Tacoma, with 6/speed, TRD-Pro treatment & V6 for just under or at $30k would have been appealing to me.

    In a grown-up world, you'll have no use for a double cab. Kids are grown and gone. AC is way more functional for me, plus I have a full length bed that I can sleep in.

    I traded up my AC to a DCLB before having my child, and it was great - i love having extra cab room to store things we might want. Having a kid makes it useful too, but there is plenty of use in a grown up world.

    Could i live with an AC again? Sure. Would i do so intentionally? probably not..
