I'm still not sure why they are calling this Ebola, when it is not. Ebola attacks the body and with in two days you are a puddle on the floor. No cure has ever existed. The only way to stop this is to round up everyone infected and let them die and not let anyone in or out of the infected area.

Like I said before, ignorance is a big factor in the spread of Ebola. Take for example what was mentioned about how monkeys and apes share a large percentage of their genes with humans, which is why simian viruses can be transferred so readily to people eating bush meat.

However, try explaining to someone in a slum in the poorest country of Africa why evolutionary theory suggests that they should not eat other primates. Heck, try doing this in most of the states of the "Bible Belt" in the US and you would probably get the same blank stare plus a "My grandpa ain't no monkey!"

Have they named this strain of ebola yet? Or is it one of the 5 or 6 they have identified already? I know its morbid and in bad taste, but I find this sort of thing fascinating. I read so many books on plagues and outbreaks. But hemoragic diseases are by far the most interesting. Anyway, just my two cents and questions..... Also do you think Jeremy Clarkson will stop making ebola jokes now?

I am getting my information from those that are actually studying Ebola, not TW members.

Actual Ebola, not this watered down version or amped up flu virus they are talking about on the news. There is no cure for actual Ebola, that is why the last time there was an outbreak of true Ebola, the people with the virus were rounded up in a secure area and left to die. No one was let in or out, and the area was burned.

Ebola is the name of a group of viruses that all have a similar structure and all are hemoragic. There are several identified strains that have hit africa and indonesia in the last 30 years or so , most likey longer, and have been named from the area they were found. Its not like the flu. Its not air infectious.
