Scion has been rumored to build a pick up truck based model. If they were to build a body on frame cab/bed compact truck then I would be the first in line. But the rumors on the net say it will be more of an el camino/ridgeline type car/truck hybrid.

A DCLB 4x4 Off Road w/ Any Transmission. Even better if it had the scoop and body-colored stuff of the sport as well.

A DCLB is really the only reason I didn't look for an off road.

My 2011 TRD Sport has this...not sure why they got rid of it.

Yeah, I don't see it happening though. Hell you can't even get the 4.7 in the 4runner anymore. I hadn't drove ours for a while and took it the other day. Damn that truck is fun to drive.

Regular Cab with extended seven foot bed - would use the same frame, have the same wheelbase and have the same CAFE "foot print" as access cab, but simpler, with more cargo space. Actually it would have something like a seven-and-a-half foot bed.

That hasn't been an option in years, not to mention it was a limited run to begin with.

But why would you want a V8 in a small Tacoma body? Over Kill. you can't tow more just because you add a larger engine. Not to mention that it wouldn't handle well at all. Too nose heavy.

Toyota already has this set up in other cars, and it works flawlesly. It would not be hard to install it in these new trucks.
