That's a frame that I drafted and am still in the process of fine tuning. It's just a super mini folding frame meant for carrying an 808 #16 camera. The flight controller is a hobby king micro mwc brushed fc that I adapted over to a brushless fc. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...ompatible_ESC_39_s_X4_Brushed_Integrated.html

It's flying using the multiwii platform which take a little bit to learn, but it's not too bad.

How did I not see this thread until now?

I fly a Phantom 2 w/H3-2D and GoPro Hero3+ Silver Edition for smaller gigs, but my primary rig is a DJI S1000 w/Z15 gimbal, Sony NEX-7, iOSD Mark II, AVL58 to a FlySight monitor. Command/control is done through the A2 using a Futaba 14SG and sensor operation is done through a Futaba receiver connected to the Zenmuse Controller using another Futaga 14SG.

Ground Control Station is done through DJI's PC Ground Station from my Panasonic Toughbook CF-53. I love the Toughbooks. This is my first experience with them and I'm about ready to just move over to using the CF-53 as my primary machine, even for my day job as an IT guy. Such awesome little machines.

You can check out some of the pics of the S1000 and GCS setup on Facebook at . Of course I certainly don't charge any fees for the work I do...as that would be against the FAA's sUAS "regulations".

Anyone have a link to a cheap brushless 3 axis gimbal for a Canon 5D?

That S1000 setup is pricey  Also FAA has until next May (I think?) until something has to be done about the multirotors flying and charging money for services, until then it's not against any laws or regulations.

It was indeed, but honestly, it is 100% worth it. I was able to get everything for 10% off through a local dealer given some work I had done for them so it was a great deal.

I was hoping a few italics in there might get me even further off the FAA's radar. :D

No I understood :D it's all good. I want an S1000 but after building 4 myself I don't think I could justify the price of one. I think quadrocopter.com has them (S1000) for $3495 every few months or so out of the year or so and on black Friday when I was doing some research (that's what I wanted) but if I see a deal on one from rcgroups or something I might pick it up.. might.

I was able to get the S1000 airframe and the A2 for the price most people have just the S1000 listed. That alone was a good enough deal for me to not pass up. It's all the other little crap you don't really think about that really adds up - two 14SGs is $1,000, FPV setup is another few hundred, etc...

Such a blast to fly and the quality of the pictures is insane.

Anybody using LiFePO batteries in their transmitters? I just got my two Turnigy 2100mAh 20C 2S LiFePO4 batteries and I'm just wanting to confirm that I can charge them on the LiFe setting on my Hitec H4?

Google leads me to a bunch of misleading information, some of it mixed in with other languages.

At the heart, these are clearly Lithium-based batteries and seem to match closest to LiFe chemistry. They have a working voltage of around 3.2v and need to be cut off at around 3.6-3.8v. Given that, it seems like using the standard LiFe settings on my H4 should be fine, but batteries scare the hell outta me...

One concerning point about LiFe and LiFePO batteries is that voltage becomes a poor measurement of battery life. That is one concern I have, but we'll see how it goes. Futaba recommends increasing the Low Voltage Warning on the 14SG from 5.6v for NiMH to 6.0v for LiFe. I'm inclined to kick that up to 6.2v for the LiFe/LiFePO just given what I've been reading online.

Biggest driver for moving over to these is that they don't self-discharge like the stock NiMH batteries will inherently do. I do wish voltage was more reliable reading, though...

Assembled (minus props for calibration). Gimbal on the way and only going to use this quad for the gopro, going to try and lift my Mark 3 with the 680 (not assembled yet).

Just ordered batteries for the 450, went with some 5200mah 3S. Only got 2 but should fly a good 20 minutes, mixed flying with the gimbal and both batteries on hand.. Thinking about 10000 mah for the 680 as it will be the only thing I'm lacking to complete it 100%, that and the proper assembly.

I'm still not used to the 21,000mAh batteries that I use with the S1000. The fact that when I power on the power supply and the charger begins charging, my lights dim in my office...that's insane.

I'm also not used to the cost...talk about shatting one self.
