Opted for sliding side windows (better ventilation for camping) and put a Bedrug in at the same time.

It is a ARE z series it was 1950 OTD. Each day I have I question myself as to why I didn't get it sooner. I really prefer the look of a cap less Tacoma but I think this cap looks really sharp.

I've got a SnugTop that's held down with "J" clamps. Does anyone know what's the recommended torque for the screws on those clamps?

Thank you for your reply . I like the looks of that shell . It really adds to the truck. I had the v series on my 99 Tacoma and it looked sharp but the z would look better on the 2nd gen Tacoma. Good choice !!;)

I wish i could find the A.R.E. torque specifications for shell clamps... I check them after off roading trips, and there still tight. I snug them down pretty good.

When ya'll had them installed, the bed rail covers can be left on when they are tightened down right? Does this damage the plastic on the bed rail?

The bed caps have to stay on , that's what the shell seals to

Here in Texas they are more expensive than 1950. One dealer tried to quote me 2300 out the door, I told him to kick rocks. I looked at the Z series, but I decided to go with Snugtop rebel with dual windoors and front slider because it was cheaper. Your truck looks great though.

Like that look! Have you had any problems with your shell like leaking water or getting a lot of dust inside? I also really like that tent idea for the rear. Have you used it in the rain?
