all I did in that vid was take the whole dash apart to take a look.

right at 49 seconds, you can see what it is doing when I use the turn signal and brake

 

Yes, I just got done finding wires that were "tapped" into, and then cut/left exposed.

It looks like they wired in stereo/amp crap. And then cut the wires to get the amp and whatever else out before they sold the truck.

I didn't think you can have cruise control in a manual transmission vehicle.

 

I am not the first owner. but maybe its aftermarket?

it looks to have been a factory fit. its not all jerry rigged like the wiring for the stupid ass amp and what not.

Remote start ring

 

Well, I had, what I could find, for Taco schematics - but I trashed them. From What I remember looking at the gauge cluster , it is called the "combination meter?" in the prints. This module has the beeper in itself (and the gauges). Where I was, I was trying to check the input wiring / names/ functions and colors. I figure the issue is a miss wire going in from the botched radio install or a bad "combination meter? (which is big $$).

 

Sorry I am wrong you can have the cruise control in manual. How does it work though? Doesnt cruise control work with the engine and transmission to hold the speed?

 

Same as an auto.
The difference is two switches on the pedals.
One for brake, one for clutch to disengage.

 

I have cut wires that were tapped into the clutch sensor. Was that for the cruise control?

when it does work, it disengages with the brake as it should. but I never pushed the clutch to check if that disengaged it.

 

Something to check. It needs to disengauge or else you will get a hi engine flair when u push the clutch in.
Needs to be there...
The remote start for a std trans needs to see extra inputs to activate.
The extra wires can go but the clutch switch needs to be there or else it won't start

 

Good to know, but they pulled the security system, remote starter, amp, and what ever else...

 

I PULLED OFF THE BACK RIGHT TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY. LOOKED AT IT, DIDNT DO SHIT TO IT, AND PUT IT BACK ON.

AND IT DOES NOT BEEP WHEN I USE THE RIGHT SIGNAL AND BRAKE ANYMORE.

WTF?

 

Hehehehehe you have a aftermarket trailer wiring in there ???

 

Maybe wire back there is frayed to the point its hitting metal somewhere. Maybe you just happened to move it around just enough to get it away from contacting.

but the tail light its self is not original (probably non Toyota)

it was cracked and I replaced it MONTHS before it gave me the beep

funny thing is, its been months of rough roads, and still no problem. but that's good.

Update, 2 years later...

It was beeping again.
I removed the tail light.
I took the wiring plug apart, inside the plug where the pins are crimped on the wires, they CRIMPED THE RUBBER BOOD IN BETWEEN THE WIRE AND THE PIN instead of slipping the boot on afterwards.

LmFao, for 2 years this minor quality assurance issue had me stumped just because some ahole in the factory was hung over.

Cruise control still doesn't work
