Got a recall notice in the mail today, thought it was for the springs but on the outside of the envelope it said it was for 2008-2014 Tacomas and FJ Cruisers and something about tire mounting on TRD accessory wheels.

I already misplaced the notice. Gonna go look for it now.

    Same here.
Something to do with re-setting the tire pressure monitoring system too.

Toyota is supposed to send out letters notifying owners when the remedy is determined.

Got a letter yesterday but nothing about springs. Basically, on some TRD packages the label for tire pressure is wrong. This is only if you have TRD wheels and tires. Not sure why Toyota can't figure out who has TRD and who doesn't so I guess they cover their butts and send everyone a letter. The "repair" is a new tire pressure sticker and make sure the tires are at the right pressure. With my luck, the dealer would put the sticker on crooked or make a mess removing the old sticker.
You would think it wouldn't take 4-10 years to figure out the springs squeak and snap. That's a major issue and Toyota needs to address it.

Looks like some websites are blacklisted by TW. Not sure why. Maybe they screwed over a member or spammed TW at one point.

The way to get around it is to use an URL shortener, for example: http://goo.gl/w0Lsbd

When I go in for the recall springs I guess I will have to remove my progressive AAL. I will have a bro lean without the progressive AAL and wonder if the dealer will give me funny looks.

Maybe they will complete the recall with the AAL :notsure:
You should talk to the Svc Mgr prior as it could save you personal labor.
Or give the tech a few bucks to buy lunch. . I don't see any extra work for them. Working smarter than harder :) GL

FYI, I Fluid filmed my Truck today and the frame and underside looked very good. Guess what was the worst corrosive / corroded parts were?

The Spring clip that was added to prevent the leafs from twisting out on breakage! My is a 2012 with 3 spring leaf pack.

The second spot was the Cat to rear exhaust mating flange. I'll wire brush this spot and add some high temp paint and hopefully help it out.

Just read the notices for the springs will come out next month on Bings Car and Driver section. They have had a rash of broken springs this year. So far I've had the bogus gas pedal shave, the computer flash for the alleged runaway acceleration, the newer bolts put on the seat belt fasteners in case they cut loose. I've escaped the cracked driveshaft, rusty spare tire holder, and faulty airbag recalls. Sometimes I don't know wether to love this truck or hate it until I read about all the other trucks from every mfgr. being recalled for everything from A to Z.

Any Canadians make the list? I had my 4-leaf pack break on me after 95,000 kms, causing it to stick out right next to the brake line. Had it replaced on my own dime, so a refund would be great.

I'd take a Tacoma with a saggy ass over a level Ranger any day.

My point is if Ford can put a decent set of springs under their Rangers then Toyota should be able to also. No truck looks good with a saggy ass.
