    my steering wheel is alittle off horizontal plane when going straight,, pulled it into dealer shop friday,, first thing i was asked was, if i put the lift on, or did they put the lift on it,, wtf.. i said its a factory built truck,, and they did not fix it right ,, have to go back again.. for all the fuc-in money these thing cost they should be perfect,, prolly be my last toyota,,,

    That should be a common and easy fix. has nothing to do with a lift pkg.

    Factory tow package comes with 7 pin outlet installed. The adapter would be for 4 pin connector.

    I believe the Title for this thread says it all in that the OP would like to include 'Myths'. Myths, by the very nature, do not have an answer. I would therefore conclude, the author's statement, and not sharing is perfectly valid for this thread.

    Not sure where your sources are from but most manuals do not have coolers. even though in my truck on the dealership sticker that says I do. unless used in heavy duty industrial purposes most manuals are not cooled.
    the reason being is manual transmissions have a splash effect lubrication. automatic transmissions need different fluids to make the automatic transmission shift, those fluids when put under stress need to be cooled. In a short story.

    Re: Sources - try the book called an Owners manual. It should be in your glove box. Another great source is the Build & Price selection on toyota USA or Toyota Canada website.

    Ah there's the confusion. Yes, I was referring to engine oil cooler that comes w tow pkg. I gather you are referring to an oil cooler for the Manual transmission.

    Manuals come with "a cooler" for the engine oil.....no tranny cooler as that is for the autos only due to the amount of heat an auto creates....manuals don't have that issue, mainly due to being a gear drive vs having lots of clutches and such that slip and cause heat.

    No oil cooler. Port installed hitch with 4 connector trailer connection.

    I am very close on buying this truck. I really wanted the tow package with coolers, etc.

    you know, I'm very curious if the reason Toyota isn't putting the tow package that makes the truck rated up to 6,700 and just the receiver hitch without all the coolers, etc. is because of the leveling kit on front of the truck... maybe because the truck is now lacking the front to rear rake, maybe Toyota engineers have deemed it unsafe to tow that much weight because it offsets the balance of the truck too much, putting the front too high in the air if it were to tow that much weight.. just a speculation... but if i were to buy a TRDpro without the towing package, id just get the engine oil cooler and trans oil cooler (if i bought an automatic, which i wouldn't lol) installed anyway after the fact, even if it does cost more, just for the added performance and protection its worth the extra money to me.

    thats very VERY possible the reason.

    I wouldnt buy a TRD pro purely based on the fact it doesnt have the tow package... which IMO is really needed on the auto.

    Front end doesn't get any higher if towing, offset in rake would be because of tongue weight on hitch. I think it is simply a marketing choice, to offset cost of Pro version upgrades. They don't expect too many Pro buyers would be interested in towing, and if you are, can charge you the option cost.

    Lots of folks tow just fine with aftermarket lift.

    Full tow pkg from factory is available, but it depends on how the dealership orders them, as well as the availability of the vehicle it's self since it is a specialty vehicle and only made in low numbers.

    Can not be added at the port though.
