    My trucks lifted on mts so never really worried about mpg. I have a 2002 prerunner 2.7l on 3" lift and 285/75/16 tires, deck plate mod and magnaflow muffler, seafoam was done around 2k miles ago, O2 sensor has been replaced and I get around 200-220 miles a tank. Is that about average?

    I get less than 200 a tank if it is mainly around town driving. but I also have alot of unaerodynamic parts on my truck. haha But i would rather pay more to drive this than a prius

    Check your MAF sensor for gunk build up, spark plugs for wear, and change your fuel filter if you have more than 100k miles. Those three things were the biggest culprits for poor MPGs on my rig. Each made a huge and noticable difference when I corrected/replaced.

    Also keep your foot of the skinny pedal as much as you can. Granny drive if you are worried about MPGs.

    It's not that I'm worried about mpg I just know my friend with same truck and engine size and all stock with a 3" gets over 320. And don't call me a dumb ass but they said I don't have spark plugs that I have coil packs or something and they cost over 125 a piece. I'm not the engine kind of guy lol but yeah I believe my maf is good but I do need to check out and clean my throttle body and I probably need to change my fuel filter

    How are you calculating your mpg?

    Did you recalibrate your speedo/odometer? If not you might be getting a bit better than with oversized tires.

    How much gas? I don't know if the taco came with different sized tanks but lots of trucks do.

    Going off your post,
    3" lift = -mpg
    larger than stock tires = -mpg
    deck plate = squat
    muffler = squat
    seafoam = usually squat.

    I have a 2.7, no lift but I'm undeared with 31's. There's no point in driving it hard so I'm pretty mellow. Corrected mpg is usually 19-21mpg.

    And my 2002 mustang gt convertible, 4.6 with a bunch of go fast parts and driven more aggressively gets... 19-22mpg. And is more entertaining :)

    I guess that's autozone for you lol I'll check the this week and clean my throttle body while I'm at it, I wanted to do my spark plugs and when I went to autozone to get the right size he told me it was like $500 and I was like no way so haven't messed with it

    It's an 18gallon tank and I just reset my odo right after I fill up, drive till E light has come on enough times to scare me and then check it lol

    Your odometer/speedometer are not accurate. It's probably reading under due to the oversized tires.

    You're probably actually getting slightly better mpg than you're calculating.

    Check your maintenance history for the last time your plugs have been changed. If you dont have any history, go ahead and reset.

    -Get some MAF cleaner and remove/spray down your mAF.

    -Clean your TB.

    Good lord. You have 4 spark plugs, about $6.

    Engines have either spark plugs (gas) or glow plugs (diesel). If your engine has neither, we call it a lawn ornament.

    That clerk was an idiot.... You have 4 spark plugs. I have a 2012 2.7 4cly. I have changed out my spark plugs and I have 50k on it. I was getting horrible gas mileage so went through the whole thing piece by piece. Turned out my Catalytic Convertor melted... I don't know how it did but I was replaced under warranty. Not sure if this is the case with yours but best of luck and you have spark plugs at the very most they can be $12-$15 for one plug. Super easy to change in the 4 cly. My NGK plugs were under $10 a piece.
    That's funny lmao

    Check out my build
    2.7/auto running 265/75/16s with about a 3" lift and I consistently get 230 (give or take 5mi) to a tank.
    When I had 285s it was about the same.
    Ive changed spark plugs, cleaned MAF, removed and cleaned TB/intake manifold, replaced fuel filter, aired up tires to 35psi but nothing has really made any difference.

    Weird. I get ~300 - 330ish per tank on 285's V6 :notsure: Avg ~18.5 mpgs. When I first got it, no maintenance was done beyond oil changes. Avg'ed 15-16.

    Interesting. I'm pure stock with the V6 and get 19-20 mpg consistently. I'm half city and highway. I get about 320 miles before the light comes on and that is according to my GPS and odometer. I am not crazy but drive about speed limit +. I think you might be having some misfires or something to lose that much mileage.
