I'd like lighted footwells and window switch buttons.

I wonder how that 'wish list' item will go over with the OP.

I wouldn't mind driving a banana if it had a 8 ft bed and was made by toyota.

Amsoil Synthetic ASL 5w30 Oil, Amsoil ATL Fuel Efficient ATF, Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 in front/rear diffs & transfer case.
Updated engines, ESPECIALLY the 4 cylinder option. A 2.7 liter 4 cyl dual vvt-I possibly with direct injection pushing 185+ hp and 190+ ft-lbs of torque with solid fuel efficiency would make this more viable for many. A 3.5-4.0 v6 with 270+ hp and 280+ ft-lbs of torque would be more than enough.

6 speed auto and 5 speed manual (yup you read that right!) as base transmission options for BOTH 4 cyl and 6 cyl engines. The less gears on the manual will reduce shifting and keep the cost of the transmission down. Perhaps they can just revamp the old bullet proof r150f series 5 speed transmissions they had on v6 Toyota trucks from 88 to 04 with just slightly beefier internal parts. The 6 speed auto is what the competition is using and will keep both engines in their optimal power band for fuel efficiency and power when required.
Auto Transmission and engine oil coolers standard on both engine options.

Have both engine options available in all cab configurations. ACLB, DCSB, DCLB and 4x4 or 4x2 - I would love a double cab 4x4 with the 4cylinder! Either transmission available for all cab configurations. Only higher end packages get v6 (trd, limited, etc. ) But sr5 package available with either engine in all cab configs.

Keep the existing frame and suspension set up. Perhaps if there was a way to beef up things slightly. Keep the base gvw ratings the same for each platform/cab and bed configuration. That way you actually sorta reward the guys who get less optioned out trucks or smaller engines with slightly enhanced payload capacity.

Is it possible to offer a TRD blower that works with either engine somehow?

Here is a far out there one - offer a "TRD expedition package" with a beefed up frame and suspension designed to have 2200+ lbs payload to carry a camper and other goodies.

Think major minor change, similar to the 2015 Camry. Same bones, but new sheetmetal, redone interior. And then new V6 and 6 speed AT's all around. Your dealer principal/GM should have seen the new Tacoma in clay/fiberglass form at the Dealer meeting in Vegas in August and should have details such as 270HP, etc. So why don't you just ask them?

I hate the auto locks. i disabled on my F150. I got tired off walking to passenger side and door was locked. One push of remote and unlock all doors, bed light and heated mirrors for me.

My basic 2011 Tundra had all of these features come standard. Not sure why they skimp so much on the Tacoma when the truck cost the same price.

They sell well at the same price without them, and that's easy to maintain.

Bummer. Bill has a 2013 and I'm pretty positive it worked for another person there with a 13. I'm going to try it on mine this weekend hopefully.

the 3.5L 2GR-FSE tuned for about 270hp and 300Ftlbs down low (and curves like the 4.0L which make it so sneaky quick) mated to a 6 speed auto.

Thats what i want.... and am willing to put MONEY on thats what will be in the 2016 taco.

That would be a perfect setup if that is true. I would trade my 13' for a 2017 if the 2016 has that specs.

Still like to see a updated TRD blower for the new Tacoma down the road too! 340 hp and 370-390 ft-lbs :D
