Look at centric premium rotors. I run them and they seem high quality. They are also painted on non braking surfaces, so they won't rust as fast. They aren't the cheapest out there, but won't break the bank compared to some.

I've got drilled and slotted rotors front and rear on my 13 and the only issue you run into with that is that a lot of tire and brake shops are to afraid to turn them if and when they need it because of a fear of messing of the drilled and slotted areas. Just my 2 cents.

I know this thread is a little old, but just wanted to throw in my 2 cents.

So, my brakeperformance.com dimpled and slotted rotors came in. I installed them lastnight along with the premium, semi metallic pads that came with the rotors as an ordering option. So far, my braking distance and stoping power has, in fact, gotten better over OEM rotors and pads. It's only been one commute so far, but I can definitely tell the difference between OEM and my new set up when trying to stop short distances with 33" tires.

Plus, lifetime warranty against defects, 2 yr warranty against warping, and made in the USA. Not bad so far.

Just do the tundra brake mod. It will be more a brake upgrade than these drilled and slotted "performance" brakes. Who cares about the rust on the rotor hat, doesn't affect anything. I'm sitting on 255/85s and i can lock the front brakes up if i panic stop, love them.

100% agree. I saw a video of the before and after tundra brake swap and the stopping distance was like half of what it was before.

I'm going to do the tundra upgrade w/ ebc rotors/pads and remanufactured calipers from rock auto.

I went with power stop kit I got from stylintrucks.com. $115 or something close. I'm just an everyday driver. Came w rotors & pads. I'm happy so far. Only been about a month.

I run factory rotors. Drilled/slotted are just a bunch of empty hype IMO. Some quality pads can make a difference. Size of the contact surfaces is what is going to improve your braking, ie larger rotors/pads. I like my 15" wheels so I've stuck with the stock size rotors otherwise I would have gone with the larger Tundra brake swap for the larger rotors/calipers/pads.

Either way go factory IMO. Either stock Tacoma or Tundra swap.

I'm about to replace my rotors and pads.

I'm thinking OEM rotors and EBC greenstuff pads.

Going to be replacing my calipers as well as my rotors and pads. For the tundra brake upgrade, can I keep my stock rims?

So what model and year would I ask them for brakes for? Will I have to get a Tundra caliper as well?
