fast lenses are awesome. I like a shallow dof, as a personal preference.

and lenses are typically at their best right in the middle of their range.

    ex:
    f1.4 - f16 lens will be sharpest at f8/f9.

    or

    f3.5 - f22 lens will be sharpest around f9/f11

which means those kit lenses ARE worth something and will get you by, if you know how to use them.

I'm not sure whether WiFi would be enough for me to buy.

My past experience with it made it seem like a great idea and it worked but uploading wasn't as fast as I'd like. Also, if it doesn't do the transfer in the background, it'd be a deal breaker for me.

That printer is nice, and I really want one ha The Fuji wifi app works great for me. One thing mirrorless is ahead of the Canon/Nikon gear on is the small little innovations like electronic shutter, wifi, apps, etc. Call it all gimmicks but technology is better in the little innovative m4/3 and Sony/Fuji's than in the same old DSLRs with the same old features.

EDIT: Focus peaking as well as the focus patch in the OVF of the X100T make manual focusing pretty fun as well!

Less printing; more social media. I still think you're going to see the wedding guys wanting to post process at least a little before pushing it out though it's a great question-do you post or push?

There's no denying people want WiFi. I think so long as it doesn't impact shooting, it'll be awesome. Otherwise, not so much so.

I can definitely see it as a useful technology. I mean, it is just modernizing the old polaroid. during travelling, I can see it being used more often than not.

Honestly the only reason wifi might be useful for me is when I shoot tethered. Last I checked the wifi they are putting in the camera's don't work like that using programs such as Lightroom. So if they can't work as a tethered link I really have no use for them.

Big photo companies use it. Like for the Olympics. They upload photos off camera on site seconds after shooting.

Takes 90 seconds for them to get photos printed to the web and such

    tablet question for you guys....

looking to pick up a tablet to bring with me to SEMA this year...easier to fit in my bag than my laptop and lighter...

any suggestions? not looking to break the bank...

ideally would be nice to use my photo software i have on my laptop (LR5 is the main one i'd use, maybe photomatix, ICE and/or Adobe Elements) but download onto the tablet so i can use familiar editing software...for this reason, i'm looking at a windows based tablet

how have you been transferring photos to the tablet for editing?

My dad really likes his surface two. The surface three looks really nice. It's basically a full laptop too

That surface pro series looks pretty sweet. The hot rod one(7) is spendy though.

My bro got the Asus tablet laptop thing. I haven't got to play with it though..

I know the surface has USB yes can't remember if it has a direct ad card slot though. I seem to remember my dad borrowing my sd card reader for something. The 3 might have it though.

I have never done editing on it. It's not mine haha no software on it. I'm sure it could do LR though. LR isn't super taxing. Ps though I kinda doubt.

My wife just got a tablet so she eased up on me using her laptop, but my work does a laptop purchase program at Christmas where you can pick one of their options and they just take it out of your check over the next 6 months. They are slightly cheaper but not a great deal. One of the options last year was super hotrod. A guy I work with here bought one and loves it. I am thinking about doing that, depending on this years options.
