Yeah. I can understand having a shakedown due to probable cause, like, inventory list not matching what's on hand or something from time to time. But, everyday? If that's the case then they deserve some kind of compensation like continuing to get paid or time spent waiting put towards accumulating leave or something.

My work pays me for everything. If i need to go pee in a cup. Or whatever. They pay me enough money to have me do whatever they want.

I don't really see the problem. I am salaried and work all kinds of hours; sometimes 8 but usually 9 to 10 a day with the occasional 11 or 12, without getting a penny extra. I also do it willingly, because I enjoy what I do, not because anyone expect me to or make me do it.
So, to stand in line for a while to get searched would not bother me that much. The guy doing the searches will have to wait till 8 or 9 or sometimes 11 pm though - don't know if he will get paid overtime waiting for me. :) There will also not be a line by the time I leave.

However, I can see hourly workers and everyone leaving at the same time, it might become a nuisance. Then you get into labor laws and unions and it can become a problem for the employer.

Through my few posts I have eluded to the same opinion as yours. The majority of today's workforce has become a place for pampered pansies that are determined to find issues to complain about and file suit.
I am quite sure Amazon is not requiring anyone to strip down, bend over and cough.
I see the ACLU and Mr Jackson eventually getting involved at some point and making a big scene and filing a class action.
I said it earlier, this is simply a company trying to manage debt through loss due to criminal activity. Hence, blame the fucktards that are committing the act of theft.

Note, as a firearm shooter, gun enthusiast and responsible 2nd Amendment supporter, it is a bit worrisome that a member eludes that shooting someone with his 10mm is healthy for a thread about an Amazon screening wait time .

Yep. Been down that road here in the past. Scares the hell out of me and these type of gun owners(especially the ones that obtain their carry conceal) who are frothing at the mouth at the chance to wave their raging testosterone around in the wrong situation at the wrong time with the wrong person.

Build thread in sig... 4-link long travel
The plant we are about to start building requires a buss ride to and from the parking area for all staff and craft because the existing site we are building on, while large, is already very full of machinery and equipment.

between waiting in line and the shuttle ride itself, it can range from a 15 minute to 30 minute experience. the staff is salaried, so it really doesn't make a difference, but for the craft workers, the wait/ride there in the morning is on them (no pay), and the wait/ride back in the evening is on the clock. we originally had bothe the wait/ride there and back as non-paid time, off the clock, because it was part of their "commute". However, it was then determined that due to the secure nature of this project, with sensitive data and some very expensive items, that a similar screening process had to be set up. since the screening will take some extra time (not an extra half hour), we decided the screening/wait/ride back to the parking area (in the evening) would be put on the clock.

    i think it's a very fair/logical setup, but that's just me.

I have my gun on my nightstand along with my 12g and AR. I had a scare once with my alarm and thought someone broke in. I grabbed my 9mm cause it's easier to maneuver around the corner coming down the stairs, luckily a sensor just fell off the window. However, if I cause someone breaking into one of my vehicles I might go out with bat or something but I'm not gonna draw my gun on them. What if they charge me and panic and shoot or they wrestle it away from me and for what? Loose change and a radio? No thanks, at least a bat may scare them off or can be used as a non-lethal form of defense. Inside my house though is a different story because the moment you cross the threshold, I don't know your intent and I'm going to automatically assume that you are a threat to my family and I will use a gun.

    Sorry to get off topic

Sorry for off topic on TW cracks me up!

Home invasion is def a line not to cross with me as well. But, I will say there are still safeguards and a correct way to handle the situation and rely on proper training to decide whether it is a life threatening situation. I am sure you know this. And, the Law will be different from State to State and interpreted differently by the DA.
I have read far too many times that a family member has been shot due to an inexperienced gun owner.
