I lock my truck in my own front yard. Keys are with me no matter where I am or where the truck is. I would love to say I don't but the one day I trust my surroundings could be the one day someone decided they want a new Tacoma or something inside of it.

I wish Toyota would just go back to their roots and make great lasting trucks. That's not to say they don't last as long, just they've lost a little of their reputation. Wish they'd go back to that older Hilux/1st gen tacoma design. Maybe they will put some work into a reg/xtra cab.

Love to see this. My wife's 2013 Altima has them and I like it.

Have had a couple cars with this and I love it. We live in a very hot area and it's nice to start the vehicle as you walk to it from the store or wherever.

Good idea just to be spoiled.

According to a very good source, the 2016 will go in a new direction, assumingly different from previous models. Smaller motor with higher HP. That's all I was told though. Could be speculation.

No, the way it works, as it has been shown to be a flawed system, is that the manufacturers calculate the MPG using EPA "guidelines." The EPA does not check every vehicle on the market for MPG ratings.

But it's quite clear that you're strong on the Toyota kool-aid, which is great to see that all the dealer training materials and verbage are being well received out in the field.

This statement of yours seems to be at odds with a lot of posts in this thread that you try to push from your factory reps

Smaller antenna...my '08 subaru had a short antenna on the roof, much better looking than the old fashion one on the Tacos.

X2. But that's just interior things (mainly). There are engine requests but those are widely known.

    Stock for now
    Toyota 1VD-FTV engine

    Single turbo:
    202 hp @ 3400 rpm; 317 lb·ft @ 1200-3200 rpm; 19.8 mpg

    Twin turbo:
    261 hp @ 3400 rpm; 479 lb·ft @ 1600-2600 rpm; 22.8 mpg

[And those are combined MPG's in a super heavy Series 70 Land Cruiser.]

This would turn the competition upside down, but we all know that Toyota would never have the balls to do something like this. We're just getting a detuned direct injection 3.5 from a RWD Lexus platform (2GR-FSE).

I wasn't debunking your suggestions, I like them. But you're right on the HP and torque. They are fine I really just want more mpg.
There are flimsy things about the truck, but I wouldn't call it a flimsy truck. Sounds like you don't like them. Why did you buy one?

A lot. Check out my build page.
Just got my 2014 this summer and I have a small list of things it SHOULD have for a $30K Off Road vehicle.

    - Power rear sliding window
    - Power front seats with driver 1/2 memory
    - Sunroof option
    - Homelink system (3 buttons)
    - Push button start
    - Auto lock system like in my old 05 Corolla (lock when shifting to drive, unlock when shifting to park)
    - Auto up/down windows (current only has auto down on drivers window only)
    - Soft drop tail gate (Tundra has had it since year 1....WTF)
    - Wish list item but....factory Xenon headlight option
    - Shorter, better FM antenna
    - Better tires with the TRD Off Road (rugged terrains suck)
    - Little more attention to interior appointments.....stitched leather dash accents, little more effort on making the interior feel a little less "plastic-y"

Thats about it. Those things would make the Tacoma the undisputed champion of the small/mid class. Chevy and GMC are trying to come up on it so action will be needed to keep the top spot.
