Jason was saying the same thing on FB, so I at least have somewhere to start...just wondering if I should be driving around like that or not...I dont want to blow my diff up and not be able to do anything and I have no idea right now as to how much I have in the diff right now

plus...I need to get a new coolant recovery tank, i think my reservoir has a crack in it and my coolant is below the "Low" line with some fluid on the outside of the bottom

 

Take the fill plug out & the oil should start to run out if it's full, if not add some until it does run out. As long as you keep oil in the diff you won't blow it up.

hey buddy no big wig bro...I was just looking out for my buddy eric. Trust me dude i've been doing this job for close to 13years I get a lot of people who hear this or hear that. some of it is correct some of it not so much if ya know what i'm sayin..I do know this though, the State take their vehicle stuff and license stuff very seriously. I've seen people get more prison time for stupid crap like tags and suspended dl's than the dope dealer with a kilo of cocaine. They are crazy stupid about that crap..

lmao...Well after i moved out on Jimbob I traveled the country as a chipendales dancer. no really after college i was a plant manager for a CSR Rinker steel plant.

 

i think 75w90, but doublecheck... also i believe some would recommend synthetic, and some would think it's a waste


btw, i think we supposed to change that like every 30,000 so........

75w-90 & if you have a mechanical LSD I think you need some kind of additive.

 

Hmmm that's what I saw looking around...every 30k huh...well then I have no idea when the last time my diff oil was changed lol. I've only put 15k miles on my truck since I've owned her

 

Changed my front and rear diff and transfer case oil at 30k.

Might want to do that.

X2 especially if you don't know if it's ever been changed, the cost of a couple quarts of oil is better that killing your diff. Also if you haven't done the breather mod, all that playing in mud you may have got some water in there.

Edit: a little tip, if you change it make sure you can get the fill plug out before you drain it. It would suck to drain it & then find out you can't get the fill plug out.

 

Changing diff/ xfer oil is no big deal. Stuff smells like rotten ass. If you havent changed it in 15k and dont know when it was changed, do yourself a favor and do it. Theres a couple good threads for it on here. Check the level after filling. if oil is still all over again check it again. If it goes down you might have a leak.
