I think you made the right choice man. The p90 always felt like an AK to me. Like when you fire one you can actually feel the slide unlock, cycle, then relock. Like an AK it doesn't need much care either. Just make sure your bore is clean and put some lithium grease on the rails and you'll be good for another 1000 rounds.

In the words of Borris:"Heavy is good. Heavy is reliable... If it does not work, you can always hit him with it."

I have two Rugers, one of these and a 22/45. They both shoot all ammo, have never jammed, and are tack drivers.

This is not a universal experience. I would not buy it if I couldn't shoot it first, but that's true of any gun, any maker.

Where do you buy your guns? Here when you shoot a new gun it becomes a used gun. Sounds idealistic, I've never fired a gun before I bought it, and have had no problems.

If I was buying through PPT then sure, that applies. But OP isn't at huge risk here as he knows the guy he bought from.

Well most importantly, it's a registered franchise in the state of Alabama. I did enough research. ;) Wish i had a pawn show like that near me, they have an insane amount of guns.

Well it came in last night - I would say condition is 9/10. Feels amazing in my hand. Field stripped and cleaned last night, probably shooting is Saturday.

Not sure if this is the KP or what the K refers to. I looked up a KP model and it was made in the 1991.

But this is a deckocker model.

If it doesn't shoot you can beat someone to death with it. Nice piece.

when i worked on them, they were customer service. usually had to remove the rust from the slide. (most common issue) so after the rust is removed, the slides needed to be sandblasted and prepped for bluing, i did sandblasting. now, i couldnt run them normally, since the machines that were used to put the rollmark on havnt been around in 10+ years, i had to blast the surface enough, but not too much to remove the rollmark. so i had to setup my machine all wonky to get it to work right. and it was always for just one part.

nothing wrong with the actual gun per say, just setup was a pain.

What's the best way to prevent rust on the blued slide?
Also - you wouldn't happen to have any factory mags would ya :D

keep the moisture in your safe as low as possible. you know those "do not eat" packages? you can buy big ass ones (that weigh a pound) and throw them in your safe. and like once a year, dry them out. or cosmoline. :)

and no mags for a p series. i have magpul p mags and a couple of SR40 mags though

Well my two handguns just sit in my top door of my dresser on the velvet lining.... Unloaded. (No kids, random people going in my room).

What do you think is the best aftermarket mags for the p90?? i've heard alot of negativity towards promag.
