Hey guys, searched and couldnt find the specifics for this question.

i own a 2014 Tacoma dbl cab, and i have just ordered a King coilover kit for the truck, in hopes to run 285/70 or 285/75 (whats more common?)

this is the kit i am getting:

however, i am hearing multiple different things from friends, about what this setup will give me. I am being told by some its a 2.5" lift all around. Others are telling me it will only lift the front 3" and leave the rear stock height.

my question is, if this kit does NOT lift the rear at all, will i have a problem tucking the 33's in the back in its stock height? i am OK with the truck just being leveled out and i know i need 2.5-3" in the front to make the larger wheels work. but my concern is the rear... especially if i get no added lift in the rear.

    Thanks.

Nothing in that kit will lift the back. You should get a replacement leaf pack for the back such as OME Dakar, All Pro Expedition, etc... depending on your needs.

ultimately, needs = looks. with some fun but not serious level of offroading here and there... main concern, is will 33's work on the stock rear. from what im getting, i need to get the rear lifted a tad?

If you don't flex you can run 33s on the back

Yes, I did with the TSB pack, and again with a 2" AAL. It depends on what you call a 33 though, the width of the tire, the diameter and the backspace of the wheels you will run.

Before I got my Dakar leaf Pack and cut my fenders, I had the icon AAL which gave me 1.5" in the rear. I have 33's and my tires came pretty close. When I flexed they were nearly touching and that's with the 1.5". Up to you what you wanna do but I agree with the larger leaf pack. I love my Dakars. Especially if you plan on going camping or anything, the weight capacity on those suckers is great. Or you could also check out the all pro leaf packs.

I ran 285/70/17 km2s with 4.3" backspaced wheels, a 2" aal with the TSB leaf pack and ripped them off. Maybe that 2/10 of an inch will save you from ripping yours off.

That's a good way to look at it I suppose. Or save some money and cut the fenders

    To answer your original question,

285/70R17 and 285/75R16 are about equally common among TW members.

Glad to see you're getting some springs to support the back.
