Just ordered the new GoPro Hero - the basic one they just released. Will be a great camera to keep on the tripod to record builds, unboxing, on-site action, etc. Also going to use it as a dash cam.

    Couldn't pass up 1080p30 or 720p60 for $130.

I've been known to gamble on a thinner line when wearing dark clothes...but then, and only then.

Have any of you guys taken a look at the new Multistar Elite 3508-268KV High Voltage Endurance Motor? For $35 I'm seriously considering them. No reviews yet since they only just came out, but the numbers look good on them. 620g-710g at less than 3A sound pretty good to me. Only thing holding me back on these is finding a high mAh battery with a low C rating in 8S.

    Looks like they only offer 1 ESC that's 8S, it's a 45A one.

Yeah that's kind of the problem. I totally did the math wrong on my current frame. I'm using a 650 frame so the max prop is really 11". If I want to use these motors I should ideally be using 13" or 14". So now I'm debating if I should once again upgrade my frame that is a month old or just get new arms.

I'm leaning towards extending the arms, should be a hell of a lot cheaper than moving up to something like Tarot T810. However, if I'm going to start investing in some serious 8S batteries do I say screw it and just go all out? All I know at this point is that my wife is going to kill me. :D

extend the booms, those props will be pricey as well so better buy some cheap plastic ones for maiden flight, heh.

Gimbal is here, batteries on the way. I can get it in the air with the 4200mah's but I want about 10 minutes of mixed flying so these won't do.

Cheapo tarot 2d. I think I paid $119 shipped from an American store on Amazon and it got here in 2 days. I see H3-3D's on CL sometimes and if I see another one I will scoop it up. There is a broken one on CL right now for $200 but not sure if I can fix it..

so you were happy enough with it on the phantom to buy it again. that's good.

i don't thing i like the 3Ds very much. maybe that was just becasue it always turned the cameras into the legs on phantoms. guess it wouldn't be an issue hanging 8 inches off the front of the hex.

Yeah it was a good gimbal, I had no issues with it once I set the limits on it. If you don't and fly it out of the box though and it pitches / rolls too far it starts to wobble and shake until you reset the quad. The legs I am using are made for a gopro gimbal and were only like $6 shipped and didn't add much weight to it. I will be disappointed that I didn't get a 3 axis gimbal though since I have a radio that can utilize everything but maybe on black Friday or early next year, maybe if I break this one I will splurge on a good one.

Did the maiden just now on the 450, flies way better than the 550 and GPS hold is steady as a rock (there was no wind).
