It is Lexan. Don't know why I wrote plexi. It is very bendy, thats why I glassed it. When I would tighten the bolts on the quick fist, the plate would distort.

 

I have a 1/4" sheet, but there is stuff behind the headliner there. I was aiming for low profile, lightweight. The only thing that holds the headliner up there is the coat hanger things, and they just twist in. I also figured the curvature of the liner there would add a little bit of ridgidity.

 

Up under the headliner right there, there is a plastic grating type thing. It holds the wire loom for the brakelight and i believe it holds the contour for the headliner itself. I thought about putting some silicone on the back side of my plate, so it would somewhat "bond" to that plastic piece.

 

I really don't want to pull the headliner down when I take the rod tube out.
