Those damn heated mirrors winter's coming don't want to do an expensive mod.
Toyota use to have a "cold weather package" for like $100.
(never on the Tacoma/pickups but on the older Tundras now standard in certain regions)
Why just the Tundra? or Sienna or other models geez ....
I know for folks in warm weather regions it might seem like a frivolous add on
but honestly it is a pita in ice storms, frozen sleet snow to see out the side rear mirrors in winter.

I don't mind auto locking doors when shifted out of park, I still mainly have a habit if manually locking the door right after I get in anyway though. I do NOT like auto unlocking doors when shifted into park, that makes no sense to me (at least from a safety point of view). Maybe I'm just paranoid about people trying to burglarize you or something...

Like the 10,000 other posts, a full receding rear window would be nice, the Tundras had them back at least 2004 (along with cargo light above rear window).

I see absolutely no sense in it, being that you can open a locked door from the inside anyway.

A lot. Check out my build page.
It's not necessarily about keeping anyone INSIDE the vehicle. I consider it a safety feature for help in prevention of car jackings!

If I am rolling through downtown and someone wants to car jack me and my locks are open.....easy access. It's one less thing I have to think about if the truck auto locks them for me as I leave the relative safety of my garage in the morning.

Usually by the time I get near work (downtown) I look down and realize I never locked my doors......annoying and could be solved with doors that lock when shifting to drive etc.

    A few bolts are different.
Sounds like most of you want a Honda ridgeline.

I'm still waiting on the specs for the 2nd gen Ridgline to come out. I know it's getting a 7spd auto but what else?

BTW I hear today Ford is seriously considering making a all new compact Ranger again. They won't use that current global Ranger chassis since it's too big.

I completely agree with you. I also want the truck to lock automatically.
The point I was making is there there is no reason for it to UNlock once you park... Seeing as when it is locked (as it should be) you can still get out just as easily. So unlocking it automatically upon park only grants someones access to carjack you where you were safe to begin with.

Do you see what I'm saying?

Does the Honda Ridgeline have all of these things while being as dependable as Toyota's trucks and as efficient? If so, all that's left is the fact that the Tacoma is beautiful and the Ridgeline... :)

I think Chris4x4 a mod here was allowed to see the ridgeline and was blown away. I think the Tacoma and new ridge will be close competition. 2 reliable small trucks is great for consumers.

id still be happy with a "detuned" (more like hp / torque shaped differently) 2GR-FSE and a 6 speed auto.... this will keep costs down, its a reliable proven motor, and better mpg than the 4.0L. Yes a diesel will make better tq and mpg.... but the extra costs up front, you wont start to even recoup in gas saves for 150k miles. And then throw in extra costs of turbos going bad, SUPER high psi direct injection problems on the diesels.... and all the EPA bullshit that comes with diesels .... ya no thanks.

I don't feel like making multiple posts....

100% built in the USA (everything in, on, and around the truck)
    A diesel engine
    Rotors in the rear
Slotted rotors (all 4) with ceramic brakes
Better quality interior components in the cab
HID head lights and fog lights
    Auto up/down windows
    Better warranty
Improved customer service at the dealerships
Bring back the transmission dip stick (not sure if they have already done this)
Dual climate AC with vents for the back passengers
More insulation in the roof (very loud when it rains)
    Improved Bluetooth/hands-free microphone
Bring it up about 2 more inches
