You assume to know what members are thinking, feeling, and say, "So you think..." far too much sir. It appears you are looking for adversity with those that may not think like you. Ease up.

 

I'm honestly just trying to have a discussion here. I find it interesting to hear other peoples opinions on stuff like this.

 

I do not know the fullest extent of the law in California. I do not know if it is a felony, misdemeanor, slap on the wrist, etc.. The full extent of the law can be loosely defined as a range of punishment or interpreted as what the Judge decides.
Yes, I hope the victim is fully reimbursed and the alleged suspect is punished appropriately within the scope of the law.
Note, there are laws on the books for good reason.
You think he should be cut a break, I may not. So what? Moving on.

 

Asking for opinions may be a better platform

 

It's going to be societies problem in 5 years when the dude can't find a job after getting out of prison having made contact with a lot of hardcore criminals and then when he gets out he has no legitimate way of making a living.

States that have more of a focus on rehabilitation statistically have a lot more people who don't end up in prison again. Even just offering trades training in prison to give them something to make a living with after they leave prison helps a lot.

 

I believe he should at least get community service or something. He will probably shit on his pants when he finds out the police is involved and looking for him.
