Did they give you specific reasons?
Or did you show up in a lifted 4-Runner covered with dents and scratches and proceed to haul out a pair of full-auto AK's and ask if you could throw some lead downrange? (which of course offended their Range-Rovers-and-classic-over/under-doubles sensibilities)

Bah. Stop helping me justify one! Deer season's just around the corner!

Nice. I had one of those this morning too. Free range eggs from the birds, pastured bacon from my parent's farm, and toast from the homemade bread the GF made last night. :hungry:

It was too good; I may have eaten too much, because now I want a nap.

I haven't shot trap before, but I've seen it been done many times. It's a very simple concept to grasp.... But they said they want nothing to do with me lmao. "Join the association and take our class" ehhhhh no, I was told this was open to the public.... It seems quite the opposite. Fucking Andover snobs

Oh well. My dad's cousin is a member there. I'll just go with him.

Couple ranges around here are "public" but it's public if you know the people there and want to pay out the ass…Find someone with a good chunk of land and throw some clays

Man am I glad I live in NH. My whole neighborhood is full of gun folks and we all shoot it up whenever we want.

I usually go to my grams to shoot in MA, we have 100+ acres. Go to school in Maine though so it's free range there.

Anyone hear of ranges requiring you to shoot stainless steel shot?

Yah, it's "better" for the land and doesn't put lead into the ground. It's like shooting any migratory bird it has to be steel shot. I think some states, like California, are trying to switch completely to steel shot no lead. Also some police forces are switching out of lead…going to cost a bit...

Might be adjacent to wetlands or there are local concerns with water leaching to the drinking water reservior. I haven't come across that myself but I'd bet that's the reason behind it.
