I get a little click from the front end when I just start moving, typically backing out of the garage and then it doesn't do it again until the truck has sat for a bit.. Weird, but I've gone through everything with a fine tooth comb and the best that I can figure is that it has something to do with the heims, which actually makes a little sense

Jon's truck does that as well. It typically happens when reversing after sitting for a while. What we've found is that there is a tiny bit of play between the brake pads and the caliper. When he reverses and apply the brakes the pads shift and make a click noise.

thats what mine does too. its not consistent.. seems like after it sits like you said..

    yeah... yeah..

sorry that I expected coilovers as expensive as they are to be a little more "fined tuned" I guess you could say..

Guess ill learn to live with it.. just sounds and feels like crap.. hitting the trails will be interesting.. as of now.. i feel like they wont be that great.. just loud, clunky, sloppy feeling shocks over rough terrain.. where's the "smooth" factor come in?

and you guys all know I'm anal.. so take it with a grain of salt.

Hit the trails at speed. Then you'll see where "smooth" comes in. Kings are progressive like my Fox's were.. the faster you go the smoother it gets over the normal bumps and such. Icon's don't get as smooth with digressive, but they take the harder hits smoother. Believe it or not, they are actually pretty finally tuned from the factory with higher end components lol.

I thought hte same thing after awhile until I drove an OME truck, and was like man this thing is smoother than mine. Then I went back to mine and was like.. oh never mind, at speed there's no way in hell the OME would have kept up as smooth. It won't feel like a merc, but they're doing the job well.

Also keep in mind... by adding the pre-load you're making them ride incredibly stiff compared to out of the box. If you crank them back to zero load then go for a ride... it'll feel like butter.

I gt what you're saying. it makes sense.. i guess im just used to my OME stuff.. and it was smooth on the road.. off road was "ok".. im sure the Kings are the opposite.. "ok" on road.. and better off road. just gotta get used to them I guess.. thanks man.

the rear needs to settle some more as well. end of October will be about 2 months.. and ive had weight back there the whole time.

hoping they settle more as i still have rake, and im pretty sure im over 3" of lift up front.. either that, or my calculations are wrong and im not at 3" yet..

regardless, the truck is going in soon for a service and any last warranty work as my extended warranty is about up... ill have everything checked and torqued down one last time. hopefully there wont be any other issues.

then once i get some extra spending money again down the road.. ill upgrade to TC uppers.

oh I know that.. thats why i wont some 650# coils. yeah they are a stiffer rate, but less preload is always good. and I gotta get that 3" of lift..

If you want it to settle... go beat the piss out of it on the trails. Just do a 4-Peaks El Oso run at some speed and it'll settle fast. lol

My buddy has Kings and they ride smooth, but he has light weight Konig Countersteers on 16's. I have Icons and they are quite nice as well, but my heavy ass 18" Monster XD's and tires don't help with the handling. But in the end...it's all good. I don't have any clicking noises though. The only sound is the UCA's when they flex up and down and it's a normal sound for those.

    18" Monster XD's: 34lbs ea.
    16" Konig Counter-steers: 18lbs ea.

All sounds like the same feeling I had when I got my icons - basically agree with everything jake is saying and what you mentioned - upgraded shocks are amazing offroad, especially at some speed and rougher as a DD. Sucks about the clunks but everything else is pretty badass dude so we should defintely go out somewhere soon.

Have you had the nitrogen checked in it? Like everyone's said, theses off-road parts make lots of noise and while I get annoyed at my truck sounding like a beater going over speed bumps, I know what it's capable of.

Backed mine off to 2.75" lift and they're like butter (off-road), on road they're ok. Was just blowing down lower sycamore road at 30+ (had it up to 50 at one point).......that's where they shine. Fox resi in the rear on *8 setting and didn't bottom out once.
