Upper Rad Hose seepage ?

Hi all, long story short, about 6 months ago Toyota had to replace my radiator due to an issue. Today while checking the oil I noticed this.
I have been adding some anti-freeze ever so often since this fix, today included, but never noticed the hose seepage. None of my other hoses look like this & honestly I do not know how serious this is so I come to the experts!!

I picked at it and it was like crystallized. I want to go on a short trip today & the dealer is only open to only noon. Is this bad or what?
Should I stay put & wait to I can get it to the dealer or drive there now and

Losing coolant isn't ever a good thing. Hopefully, you do what Chris said, and you see coolant coming from the hose. If you're losing coolant and can't find where it's going, that's not good.

 

Thank you for that tip too. I did that before I left, nothing is coming out so seepage is probably the wrong word. As you said it wasn't wet, but crystallized & tacky around the hose clamp.

I have read here posts from others that some have to add once in a while.
This is my first toyota truck that has done this & figured maybe it was due to the repair job??

I want to say since the dealer did this 6 months ago, its been to the low mark 3x so I bought a gallon of the red toyota stuff to refill.
This is the only spot that I can see & have not seen spots on the ground.

My dealer appointment is Thurs so I will use my honda till then.
Do I ask them to test the system, like a pressure test?
I certainly will tell them it loses coolant.

 

That sucks....definately get the dealer to look at it.

I've been loosing fluid myself. I found residue in & around the radiator cap.

The dealer has since replaced the cap but I still smell coolant when I walk around the truck after shutting it off. I haven't noticed seepage yet but I'll certainly take a look.....

I might be off base but how about a "real" radiator clamp?

 

knock on wood, but i've been using the same ones the truck came with since 96 had to replace my upper and reused the hose clamp

mines got 131K on it

 

and it almost looks like they didnt push the hose on far enough, that could be a leak spot also

 

well you either need a new clamp or hose, both simple fixes.. And what in the hell is up w/ the pink fan clutch and pink antifreeze.. Thats alot a pink for a burly truck..

 

pink fan clutch means towing package if I rember correctly

pink af is just toyotas way to rob you more. I'm running chameleon in my truck(kinda green) and its no problems

thanks for your tip on putting on a standard hose clamp.
It was the dealership that re-used it after replacing my radiator that got puntured on the highway.

 

In his situation - being out of warrantee, I'd probably put a standard hose clamp on also.

However, those types of clams are everywhere on these trucks and they do work well. So - it's not like the hose clamp is the issue. It does look like the hose isn't on far enough....so the clamp probably isn't really clamping onto anything but hose.
