It'll probably be a few pages, might take a couple days, but I'll go ahead and say IBTL.
This is all this forum is now. A guy writes a review and talks about a new truck that just came out, and everyone takes a shit on him. Classy.

I've enjoyed reading this thread , it was like sitting in front of TV and listening to 5 NFL comentators debate the performance , or lack there of , of teams and players.
Very good review op , although I'm hearing you try to convince yourself of getting the Chevy. You mention the roominess , the higher seating , your back , etc.
Don't get me wrong , I'm not knocking any part of the thread . I'm smiling pretty broad , because this is how my thought process works when I get the itch for something .
I have a totally intelligent conversation with myself , and others , until I come to the desired rationalization that what I decide to do is the right answer.
The worst words ever spoken to me were " Better to Have it and Not need it , than to Not have it and Need it " !!
I worked with the guy , and Despies his ass for ever uttering those words , as they have cost me Moocho Dinero !!
After purchasing my 13 TRD Sport a/c ( first Tacoma ) my family life has changed ... I now Love My Truck ..... and like my wife !! Lol !
I'm off topic here , sorry , I'm rambling .... Thanks so much to all the contributors for uplifting a blahzae day !

Yep. I thought his review was well written, and didn't show bias like most other reviews. Then he made two mistakes. First giving his opinion, which always seems to tick people off with differing opinions. Second is mentioning off-road capabilities, which always draws out the "hardcore" wheelers, and their witty comments.

It sure is a nice looking truck. Although that front bumper would need some work just to clear the Publix parking lot turn off here.

This is why the thread derailed, and it's in the first post. Too many glue sniffers in here.

Just gonna put my two cents in. I was working a booth at the OC Auto Show and sat in just about every vehicle there. The GMC Canyon felt like it had zero lumbar support to me. It almost felt flat. I'm 5'1" and two hundred @%#$& pounds.

I got my Tacoma because I wanted a truck that was good on and off road. Well it does the job pretty well. Yeah they could improve it a lot, but for now it is still better than the frontier and Colorado. I mean I would consider the Colorado or Canyon if they could make them last 15-20 years with minimal issues.

Exactly what I'm talking about. OP tends to stretch the truth or severely exaggerate often. I just wanted to ruffle his feathers and call him out on his claims. His review seems reasonable, I just find it humorous how dramatic he is. The way he told the initial story I almost thought I had unknowing joined a gang and our rivals were the Colorados.

You are absolutely correct, it does feel like there isn't much lumbar support in the Colorado seats. But what is different is that the seat is much firmer and less squishy if that makes sense? Some people like firm, some like cloud like (Like a Cadillac or Buick)

I found the Colorado seats bolstered slightly better, and didn't find any unusual protrusions like that bar that often rears it's ugly head when you are trying to find comfort on a long drive, at the lower back portion on the Taco seats. If there was another redeeming quality about the Colorado seats, I found the power seat feature extremely welcoming. It's not a deal breaker, but certainly a nice touch at the same price point as a similarly equipped Tacoma.

And again, not going to get out of my Tacoma anytime soon, as a car guy I enjoy checking out newly released vehicles. Dealer lots are not a scary place to me, and I'm always up front and honest with car dealers and my intentions, as to respect their time.

What are you going on about now?
This shit happens, are you jealous no kid has ever dared to try to race you or what?
Just last night I ventured to the NW side of town and some dude in a dodge bothered to roll his window down and wanted to start something. I didn't even acknowledge him.
Why so hostile? I really want to know. He needs to get a hobby cause someone wanted to race? You don't make any sense.

I'm just going to point out the dude backing you up is going through an experience with a Tacoma that can only be described as an assrape. Positive thoughts are well beyond him at this point.

I've never understood why people come on here to "ruffle his feathers". How about you go do that in a bar somewhere. I bet you only do it once .

OP, good review. I don't care what actually happened but I like hearing everyone's differing first impressions of the Colorado/Canyon. The future wife is looking at getting a new family friendly truck and the Canyon is on her list.

I'd buy one. Good looking truck. GM quality makes me nervous, but I also drive a 21k mile Tacoma with bad cats, front end vibration, and had an engine recall.
