Toyota Corp has made it clear that they will redesign when they are ready.
As well as publicly saying, "Why change? it's the most popular truck in the world".
Early 2011 on TW there were many that just knew the diesel was coming in '12. :jerkoff:

.... And then there was supposed to be a Diesel in 2013. And 14. And there was "officially" a redesign coming in '15... According to TacomaWorld of course

That mule could just as easily be a testbed for a new engine and/or transmission. Let's not turn this thread into the "I know something because my buddies best fiends roommates cousin works for Toyota corporate" that the testbed thread turned into. No one knows 100 percent exactly what/when changes are coming to the Tacoma. All we know is that toyota is doing something other than twirling there thumbs in the corner.

Ease up Tex, read my post again. I stated nothing but fact and the articles can be found online. Whether it's next year or in 5, Toyota and every auto group bibs vehicles every year to test regardless of release date. It's what they do. And, this isn't the first year they have done this.
No one is stealing your thunder.

That is not my source, but has a lot useful information. I saw you only viewed that thread for about a min. If you're not sure about a topic please refrain from typing what you don't know.
They are proceeding with a newer tacoma, get over it.

Shall we get back to the original topic or do you wanna flash some gang signs and bro down?

You first ;). I'm not saying a new Tacoma is or isn't coming next year, I'm saying that whatever sources you have may or may not know what the 2016 Tacoma will be. Anyways, moving on from our tremendous internet egos, whatever changes the Colorado brings to the market will be good for the mid sized market as a whole. The only risk I see is if the Colorado outright fails that we could see even less effort given to updating whatever truck is coming in the future.

Not like either truck was designed to run 1/4 mile times, but of all brands GM has always had the most optimistic numbers on paper. If anyone follows GM/ Ford / Mopar history, GM has always had the highest hp and torque figures, but for some reason equivalent Fords and Mopars have always been quicker stock for stock.

I'm not a GM hater, absolutely love the C7 Vette and ZL1 Camaro products. I'm even a fan of the Duramax in secret, just can't stand the latest styling theme on the new HD Silverado's.

I just wish the brand would shoot straight from the hip with their figures, instead of coming out of what seems like thin air.

I'm not saying our trucks are quick or fast by any means, but I like how Toyota rates our 4.0L at a very modest 236hp or whatever it is, yet it feels like it's at least 250/260 ish. Almost every GM product I've ever driven, feels like it's 20-30hp less than what is actually stated in their propaganda.

No one's saying you're wrong, buddy. I'm sure they've been working on a redesign for years, they have employees that do that kinda thing.

I'm just pointing out that I've heard these "official" announcements about redesigns on this forum for the past 3 model years and here we are on M.Y. 15 and the Tacomas are still on Gen 2. (Not that it matters to me and my '98.)
