    Wow, I had no idea.
So I know this is nit-picky.... But you said screw, so would a screwed on cap give less strength than a one piece cap, based on that concept?

The best strenght is a one piece that covers the tailgate and rolls over the top. The cap is nice and offers more protection then it does strength. It depends on how you use your truck, alt of people don't need anything, some will want a cap and some the entire cap/skin. I carry heavy loads with the tailgate up and closed so I will be getting a one piece to strengthen and protect my tailgate.

    Screw onto what ?

I used screws for my example , could be nails , staples , glue , whatever , the point is the bend gives the strength because the connection is a 90 degree angle or there abouts

I was referring to where the OEM cap screws to the OEM backing. But there's no need for further explanation. Also DoorDing I agree, if you bend one you were going to bed anything. My OEM tailgate has never even shown signs of bending (Although I took it apart and found one of the braces came detached from the bottom inside) but I will just use a reinforcement for preemptive purposes.

I don't thing Ding said that bending a stock tailgate would be as easy as bending a tailgate with a tailgate cap that includes a bend if that's what you mean

Bending a piece of flat metal on the tailgate would be a lot easier

True. But so is the rest of the skin. Once the parts come in I'll see what it's like and if it's no good, it'll be changed to one piece.

I'm saying bending the fabricated one piece or two piece reinforcement probably would have bent anything. I don't think the OEM is nealy as strong as a reinforcement.

All, see picture for explanation. To have a load only against F6 in tailgate down not a concern, if something is laying on tailgate, load would be applied against F7. I am open for critic and please prove me wrong. I understand that strength is from the bend, which I still have between F6 and F7.

I am going to sound like I am bragging with this next concept but I think I have a good idea as to what I am doing here. I am a Mechanical Design Engineer and my everyday job is to design pieces of equipment out of sheet metal that are as big as a semi truck and weigh 20K+ pounds. With that being said, if I am wrong I am wrong and I will admit it. But I have run multiple calculations on this applying incredible amounts of weight as well as pressure. I applied 100 lbs on one square inch of steel and it deflected .008", you would struggle to see that with the naked eye and that was just my parts, without a tailgate adding additional support.

With that being said, fire away.

I'll stick with KB Voodoo's. Couldn't be happier.

I would never expect anyone that already has one to trash it and switch to mine. I'm offering a design that is slightly different, that may appeal to others who don't neccesarily like the competitions. Isn't that what competition is all about? Could you imagine a world with only regular cab Tacomas with no other option?!?! There would be anarchy! This isn't communist Russia for crying out loud haha

Yeah, I'm in. I haven't really used my ME degree in a long time since I went the business route. I would add that I want the supercharger. That was the original question, right?

Can you spec one up for the offroad guys with the power outlet? Also what about Combo locks? I run alot and I like to lock my keys in the truck. This would allow me to lock the whole set in the bed!

Supercharger. It's what I really want. If I close my eyes I feel the rush...

What do people put in the little cubbies that needs a lock? I just have tie-downs in there. I'd put a lock on there and then be in a rush to get the tie-down and have to find the key.

Add the URD pulley and it does go to 11.
