So I did my retro fit last year and when I went to install them and adjust them the screws stripped right away. One screw on each headlight for the up and down adjustment. The lights were brand new depot lights. Kind if sucks that I spent all this money on retros and I can't adjust them right. Any advice ?

I got some brand new ebay headlights if you want to buy them lol. You could just use the gray plastic from them.

I think they need to be depots for everything to match. Thanks though.

I've never tried this but since they are already stripped I don't see the harm in attempting to try. You could try to epoxy a nut of the correct thread size on top of where the adjustment threads are. Depending on how bad those threads are you may want to drill them out so it doesn't also mess up the male threads on the screw. Can't see why this wouldn't work.

I wish this were the case but the threads on the plastic nut that the adjuster screw goes into is stripped. This blows my mind how all the housings and reflector bowl and screws are either steel or cast and the part the screw threads into is plastic so I wasn't suprised when it happened

oops I missed that it is actually the screw that is stripped now the nut. Haven't taken a good look at how the screw is held in place but possibly they could be swapped too?

I've also had luck with both stripped nuts or screws to chase them with either a tap or a die depending on which is stripped but that really depends on the extent of the damage. Another thing to consider is why they stripped in the first place? Was it something you did or was their some flaw in the screw and nut alignment.

I can't look at it now but i will after the weekend. I don't see how it was someting I did. I used a long star screw driver and did it by hand slowly and right off the batt they were spinning pretty much and I had already painted them and done the retro so returning them wasn't an option.
