Yea this is the issue I am having right now. The few TRD Pros I have seen advertised with intermittent wipers (on autotrader) and tow package, but that sticker clearly states 2 speed and no tow package.

I can deal with rear drums, no heated seats, no homelink, but 40k for a vehicle with 2 speed wipers?

    Thats a joke if true...

That price is pretty ridiculous and judging by the options someone at the dealership ordered the truck then the parts guy saw it as a chance to throw on every surplus accessory he had.

I'm glad i bought my TX pro baja last year after seeing the lack of tow package - I'm baffled how and why toyota did that. There are some things I would like like the new mirrors but not at the cost of giving up the tow package and coolers.

As for price, it doesn't really matter - this truck is not built for normal buyers, nor was the baja - I bought a baja and added a TRD super charger for it - I bought the truck for below invoice but with the TRD super charger was over 42 out the door, 8k miles in and I still love it.

As for the "just buy icon kit xyz" - that's great, but I tow, I wheel, I beat my crap up and the warranty is worth the extra cost.

The tow package is still unclear. One dealer here that has one in says it's included and has a 6400(6500?) rating.

I hope that is actually true - The Baja's were not available with out it because they were built on a TRD OR package which could not be built without it. If it can actually be built with the package that'd be the only way I'd buy one.

I'm new to the Toyota truck market. Is this much confusion with product typical? I just talked to a dealer in Missouri. I was told their TRD Pro was a dealer trade, and it only had the hitch. (at $550) The person I talked to stated he was unclear why it was ordered with only the hitch. I then asked about NAV (because the ad on their site showed the touch screen with it showing a map, http://rileytoyota.com/Jefferson-Ci...oma/2015-DOUBLE-CAB-4X4-Black-Truck/32103538/) and was told it did not have it; nor was it available.

A few minutes later, I get an email from the dealer saying the truck DOES have the full tow package. (and the intermittent wipers) The window sticker they sent over with the email though does NOT call out a full tow package, and from the website pics it looks like the 7pin connector is missing on the back of the truck.

How can one single trim level on a vehicle that has been out for YEARS be this confusing? Very aggravating....

Yeah, I am not happy with what I have been seeing. I have been working with my dealer to acquire a TRD Pro since April. It should be available for allcolation soon. However, if it is missing the better tow hitch and alternator I may pass and just pick up an OR.

Can someone link me to the NEW Raptor for $42,000? Please!

For the extra money I'd skip the pro and get a Sport or Offroad and add the supercharger.

Then wait for your neighbor to come by and sell you the TRD rims and tires off his Tacoma for $500. :D

I want to clear a few things up after spending some time reviewing window stickers of TRD Pros that have hit dealerships. They all have intermittent wipers, rearview mirror with home link is not completely confirmed, and you DO NOT have to give up the tow package. A good number of TRD Pros delivered have the FULL TOW PACKAGE, a $650 dollar option.

Sorry, I saw a few people incorrectly claim the TRD pro doesn't allow adding the tow package. This simply is not true.

They come either way - with or without a Tow Package, but if you buy one without you cannot add the tow package, you can add a receiver hitch though.

Yes. But a few people commented in here that you could not get the full tow package on the TRD Pro. Hence my post...

They come from the factory either way - with or without. So yes you can get the full Tow package on a Pro - but all pro models do not come with it - and it is factory installed not a port option that can be added. What that means is some have it and some don't - if you buy a Pro and need the Tow Package make sure it's listed on the sticker or dealer sheet - if it's not listed - then the truck doesn't have the Full Tow package. Receiver hitch on the truck does not automatically mean it has the Tow package on Pro models unfortunately.

    Seriously, what is your deal?

People claimed in this thread that you cannot get the full tow package on the TRD Pro. I posted to correct them that you indeed can get the full tow package on the TRD Pro based on window stickers of vehicles that have been delivered. I thought that was a fairly straight forward topic...

A few bucks? Like 12,000 of them. Many Fords are over $50k; I guess I am in the camp that says the price is in-line. A lot of money though.
    Thanks for pics.

Just like the raptor, they added several goodies and marked it up more than what it would cost you to do it aftermarket. If it had a 4.2-4.5 V8 I might be game @ the 40K price tag, but I would not pay a dealer mark up for it. My local dealer had a tundra TRD Pro in Inferno and it had a 5K markup. Wonder how long it will sit on the lot.

I disagree, if there is any production Tacoma, that could be stored in a barn for 20-30 years, then pulled out, dusted off and resold for a profit this is it. I think it's a modern classic, but it's not for everyone, that's for sure.

I agree, modern inflation, goods cost more today than a decade ago. An entry level luxury car is $40K, a decent avg car is $30-$35K, a decent full sized truck with 4WD is $38-$40K or more.

The best way is to look at your oil filter. Where it screws in, does it have a small piece that has hoses coming off of it? If so, it has the tow package(more than likely!).
