What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yep... It's Relentless Fabrication.

 

Oh yea... That's currently what I'm working out right now... Definitely next on my to do list for my truck.

 

I took some Mr. clean magic eraser to mine. Lots of elbow grease but it worked great! Just another option rather then paint.

 

Tire shine actually works well for restoring black plastics. It's not permanent but lasts for a while and is cheap

 

I have used a heat gun and it's worked pretty well.

 

I'm somewhat leaning towards just painting them, or even Rustoleum bed liner. Either would make the fenders look a million times better. I should also mention that I talked to Toyota about replacing them. They said about $10 for the clips and then $400 for the four fender flares.

I've messed around with fire shine, but I think in about five minutes the flares hard returned to normal.

To be honest, it looked great while it lasted, but i used a heat gun in the first place and now they look like this. I really wouldn't recommend the heat gun.

 

I just go back over mine every 3 months or so. Doesn't take to long and is easy

 

I use something called penetrol. Works pretty well and lasts a bit. It lasts much longer than back to black and costs a fuck ton cheaper. I got the idea from jeep guys using this method:

Lasts a solid couple of months and extremely cheap and easy to do.

It was. Put a damper on things for a bit. It's the toughest trail in the state so it can get a little intense.

Just put in an order low range to start my steering overhaul.

Energy bushing kit, ITRE's, and an e locker guard cause I was planning on getting it eventually anyway.

Next to camelback for OEM LBJ's.

 

The wife and I took the pup out hiking. Weather doesn't get much better than this!
