So my airbag light came on in the dash this weekend and the air bag switch in the dash is not turned off but it is saying off. I've read up on it and I do not think it is the clock spring, my horn and cruise control still work. '06 AC TRD offroad. Any insight?

Mine came on last year and it was the spring. And my cruise still worked. There is a recall on those so yours might be covered

Oh boy... spiral clock spring wire connection (it's in your steering wheel area) failed and that makes the air bag light come on. Happened on my 2005, after 36,000 miles and the dealer would not warranty it... was about $300 I think.

Since it happens to so may early sec. gen Tacomas, I think Toyota decided to cover it as an extended warranty? Too late for me, lol!

I believe airbags and seatbelts are covered for the life of the vehicle unless it's been altered or involved in a crash.

I'd like to know what happened here too. My airbag light came on yesterday after I had something smack the dashboard on the passenger side.
