The Toyota Tacoma is being recalled for rust problems yet again, this time with leaf springs on the rear axle that can corrode, snap off, and move enough to puncture the fuel tank or sever the rear brake line.
About 690,000 Tacoma pickups, specifically 4×4 and PreRunner models from 2005–2011

Too poor to list anything interesting.
You'll get nothing, and like it.

Took mine in with a broken spring out of warranty. They installed new springs at no charge and told me to expect to have the recall completed once the remedy is defined

I'd love to know what the difference is between a 2011 2+1 non-TSB leaf pack and what appears to be the same pack on my 2013, which is not covered on this.

Arb front bumper, warn winch, All Pro rear bumper, OME up front, OME and All Pro Standard in Back, ARB locker, 34 x 10.5 KO2's, 17" Level 8 Trackers, and fancy single piece driveshaft.
I'm going to guess that they either switched manufacturers, or changed the manufacturing process, so they don't think the springs after '11 will break.

Curious on the actual recall fix but what if you came to pick up your truck after the fix and it looks like a 5 lugger ? (No offense to 5 lug owners)

"About 690,000 Tacoma pickups, specifically 4×4 and PreRunner models from 2005–2011, have leaf springs installed above the rear axle rather than below it, and they can fail due to “stress or corrosion.”
