Not to change the subject or anything, but...

My company just opened up a new warehouse in Hyde Park. Not sure if any of you know anyone looking for work as either a driver (no class a; just box trucks) or warehouse work, but they're likely still hiring.
But we're not supposed to be advertising, so if you do know anyone, they read about it in the paper.

Honestly I don't know. They keep us separate from the hiring process. I know that they vary the pay based on the "going rate" for the region (for instance, the guys working out warehouses in Long Island make roughly double what the guys doing the same job in Maine make). But other than that, it's a guess.
    Sorry.

For what? Just for target shooting or do you have a use for it? If it's just for target shooting, get a $100 mosin and be done with it. Cheap ammo also vs 308 which can get pricey.

    X2.
Sorry Alex, Pugga's right. Unless you're using it to hunt also, there's no point in buying .308
It's a lot more expensive than .22, .223, etc for just plinking. I opted for a 7mm Rem Mag because I wanted a deer rifle that worked for moose just as well, but ammo for it is so expensive that other than sighting it in I never shoot it. I always opt for either the .22 or the .223 instead because it's 1/8-1/4 of the cost per round. At $30-$50 for a box of 20 rounds, shooting my 700 is almost painful unless I'm dropping a deer with it. :(

Yet another reason I want to take up reloading for a hobby.

    Where?

    The interwebz?
    One word for you:
    Shipping.

It's why I very rarely buy ammo online. Generally it's cheaper just to get it at Wal-mart or Cabelas.

Yep... I have an address in NH. Free shipping too I believe. Plus there's a reloader right down the street from me

I think they're 125 now but yeah, they're cheap. And I buy the military surplus ammo for it. If I were to get a 308, I'd build an AR 10.

I'll look. I want a few rifles. A good 308 with a good scope, bipod, etc. and a fun 22lr range gun

Just curious, why are you stuck on the 308 round? Also, if you're looking for a 22 rifle for plinking, you might want to consider 17hmr. Still can't find 22 but can usually find 17hmr. Last piece of advice, don't buy cheap just because, you definitely get what you pay for and you'll regret it down the road. Not saying that about the Savage necessarily, just in general.

Not set on .308. I'm looking at my options.

For my budget cheap is good, and if I can get 500 rounds for $225 and a rifle for around $375 with a scope, I would be happy.

I want to have a decent collection, so I want something with power and something economic.

Just like a trail rig. You get it for cheap, the gas costs ya an arm and a leg, but you don't use it every day and it brings a big smile to your face

17HMR is my fun play around round. Fast as hell.

My 25 WSSM is my all business round. I shoot 2-3 rounds a year. Very hard to come by. I bought 8 boxes 5 year ago. If anyone see them in 115gr with the ballistic tip let me know. Please. I'll pay $50 a box for them.
