Just looked at the ski racks and the bed brackets. I think I am just going to mount the ski rack directly to the bracket. So I won't use the mounting hardware that comes with the racks. Only problem is that if someone really wanted they could just unscrew the rack. But I guess they could just unscrew the bed brackets as well.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you're parking overnight in the ghetto.

Thieves don't usually carry around wrenches, they want an easy score.

Brackets installed, but I'm going to have to do some modification to get the ski racks to fit. Hopefully wont take much.

Post a pic of the rack you're trying to mount, and I'll help you out.

I'm here I'm here lol, I am in law enforcement and dont get on to much during work days. This is the rack:

    http://www.yakima.com/shop/snow/roof/big-powderhound-wlocks

The clamps which attach to the bars are not big enough to go around the brackets. My idea has been to put the rack directly on the bracket, no clamps. Well I found out the rack needs to be lifted up off the bracket in order for it to open all the way. I just need a "spacer" in a sense. I think I have it under control, just need the time to do it.

    Working on it.
How I mounted mine. I ditched the clamps and used the bolts that secure that clamps to the rack, to secure the racks to the bed bars. Mine open enough to get my snowboard in, but will not go past 45 degrees. I am going to put a apcer in when time allows, but it does work in the meantime.
