Add XM to Stock Radio?

I have a 2013 with the Touchscreen NON-Nav radio. It didn't come with XM from the factory. Would it be possible to add on a module to the factory radio to get XM reception?

Just trying to keep things clean as far as installs go and hopefully there is a simple solution.

I'm looking to know the same. Weird thing is the non touch screen that comes in the cheaper models come with xm. I'm using Pandora for now over bluetooth. As a alternative solution you can get the xm app and stream it over Bluetooth.

I was reading on another forum someone added this kit to his Corolla Non-Nav radio and it had seamless integration to the head unit. It had the touch screen option for XM added to the inputs and didn't affect any of the other options negatively.

I'll be ordering this kit most likely, unless of course someone else has any other ideas?

So OK my 2013 with touch screen didnt come with XM either. Would it be smarter to change the stereo rather than spent 250 for the kit?

 

If you plan on swapping out the HU, beware that lots of aftermarket HU's are XM compatible but still require a kit like this... So you'll end up paying the 250 anyway, unless you track down a HU that includes this receiver and XM antenna.

Something to ponder/research!

 

i just bought the factory xm unit for my year and bought a magnetic roof antenna. worked like a charm.

 

Also check out vais tech, been using there modules for years and they work well. And if you have a compatible aftermarket radio the sxv sat tuner and ant is only $70.

I just installed the iSimple kit from XMfanstore.com on my 2013 non-nav touchscreen radio and love it. I downloaded the install instructions from Toyota of McDonough, which was a big help.

 

Oh, by the way, I also did the stealth XM antenna mount, which I'd also recommend.

 

Most aftermarket adapters for the xm function are less than 70.00 fwiw. Like my pioneer is only 35.00 to add the xm module and antenna to my head unit.

Now off topic on modules but unless you're listening to the talk stations and possibly sports why not use Pandora 1 and save the 14.00 a month or however much it is now.

Go to xmfanstore.com. You can buy a kit that includes a tuner, a gateway interface, harness, and antenna. Sorry, I didn't take photos of my install, but if you do a search, either on this forum, or online, you should find pretty detailed instructions on he installation. The kit will also have instructions, although they're not as in depth. If you're interested in doing the stealth antenna installation, which is what I did, do a search on this forum and you'll find photos of the install.
