Haha yeah man. Silver was my second favorite color. It was a toss up between white and silver at the dealership. But since the wife was letting me get the truck in the first place I decided to let her pick haha. Happy wife, Happy life haha. Very nice truck man!

A few new goodies for the truck. Got my new Roof Top Tent. Built a rack at home for it. Also got my new Whytner 65 Qt fridge. The wife and I are taking a trip from 9/7-9/21 from LA to Denver and back. Trying to get all geared up before the trip.

Wooo my Dakars just came in! From what I researched these were the best for a combo of ride quality and load capacity so hopefully they are awesome.

Just got back from Joshua Tree and spent a little time in the San Jacinto Mountains as well. Found some good fun trails. Took a lot of pictures.

Got my Dakars installed and man these things flexed really well.

More details on the fender cutting please. How do you keep the fender liners from flopping around?

Hey man. What I did was cut the sheet metal of the fenders with a dremel and bent the sheet metal back in certain areas for tabs. Then I got some ABS plastic sheeting and drilled it in with self tapping screw into each of those tabs with a washer on each one and they have held up well. Does this answer your question? Or are you talking about the Plastic fender cover on the outside? If you are talking about the cover on the outside, I just tried to be very careful and snap those back into the stock clips and if anyone of those broke then I zip tied them in and the don't move one bit.

Just finished building my front bumper. Got all the metal free from work. I think it came out okay for not having all the tools I would have liked to have had for building a bumper. Just gotta finish grinding it and then paint it black.

Haha thanks man. When I told my wife that we would be off the ground away from bugs and snakes and stuff she was like LETS GET IT!!! I got mine from a guy who started his RTT company out of New Port Beach CA. He gave me a super good deal. Gave me the largest tent that he has with the Annex for $900. The company is called tentsonarack.

Went down this road thinking that it led right back on to the highway. After about 30 miles it led back to the highway right to a cattle fence. Instead of going all the way back I cut the fence and repaired it with bailing wire. Pretty funny all the weird and dirty looks I got from people driving by watching me cut and drive through the fence.

I'm planning a cross country trip for next fall - spring. Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Colorado... Bike/ski/fish looks like so much fun! I'm jealous

How's the ride with the dakars paired with the icons? I'm looking to upgrade and I'm curious what leaf pack would work the best.

Haha Thanks man! My wife and I had so much fun. My wife actually said to me last night "I'm bummed were not sleeping in our tent" haha. That sounds like an awesome trip man!! This country is so beautiful and so many people don't realize it.

The dakars were so awesome! I love them. I had about 500-600 lbs in the bed at all times and especially at the Bill Moore Lake Trail they handled so well going up the trail even with all the weight. I do think that I am gonna order the extra add-a-leaf anyways just for a little more weight capacity but they handled weight very well and rode very well on the trails. You won't be disappointed if you get them.

Dude! That trip looks awesome!! I need to get out there one of these days! Truck is looking good. I like that you are making your armor. I need to start getting some shop/fab equipment because, like you, I want to build my own bed rack.

How do you like that fridge? What made you decide to go with that vs the many other offerings?

Haha man I can't even begin to explain how much fun it was. Definitely a trip I'll remember for the rest of my life. Just the wife and I for 2 whole weeks! Great experience. Highly recommend a lot of these areas to go check out. Thanks man I appreciate it, I have a lot of fun modding the truck and I love what the truck can do. Dude it's been really cool, my buddy recently taught me how to weld and I was like hmmm I think I can make some cool stuff. Got some materials and just started going at it and things turned out decently so I was happy. Fab skills are getting better with more experience. My bed rack is definitely my favorite thing I've built cuz it's made camping so much nicer being able to have the RTT up there and everything. You can get a pretty decent welder for a pretty low cost too. Fortunately I have my buddy's to use.

As far as the fridge goes. I did a lot of research and found a great article that I can't remember what it was called but It basically gave the top 4 brands which were National Luna, ARB, Engel, and the one I ultimately decided to go with Whytner.
I love this fridge. Went with the 65qt and it held all the food we needed for 2 weeks. Only had to get a few things like a little milk and another thing of jelly or something. I think my choice was based on cost cuz I had already spent a lot of money getting ready for the big trip and I got the extended warranty from Home Depot so I have 4 years on it haha. So I figured it was the best bang for my buck. It's great though, kept food very cold and did its job with ease!

Thanks man! It's a lot of fun making your truck how you want it. Congrats on the new truck. Hahaha it certainly makes a difference when you lift it and put bigger tires on that's for sure. You got a game plan for when you want to start doing some things for your truck?

Great build and awesome trip! I plan to start on my build in the spring and will be going with a lot of what you did on your truck (even the with the white DCLB haha).
