Michelin LTX A/T2 Reviews

Is anyone currently running these or has run these in the past? Trying to decide between these and DuraTracs and was wanting some input on their off-road performance?

 

I have them. I LOVE them! As for off-road though, I can only speak for their performance in the sand. They kick ass out there in the dunes. I imagine they're pretty decent on moderate trails, but nothing too crazy

 

They came stock on my Tundra, so far they seem ok but spongy. Havent gone offroad with them, but the duratracs have impressed on my fiances 4runner. I was planning on switching to duratracs or cooper st maxx's

 

I spend most of my time off road in mud. What is your opinion of thhe Michelins mud performance? I think the DuraTracs reviews on here speak for themselves haha

 

I had them on my 1/2 ton pickup for almost 70k miles, they were super quiet and did fairly decent off road. The Duratracs will do a lot better off road but wear quicker on road.

 

I had a set for about 9 months on a previous Escape. I had them on for fall, winter and spring. They were great AT tires but I wouldn't consider them mud tires.

 

If ya want the best AT Tyre look into the Cooper AT3 its a great Tyre rated number one from consumer reports....

 

It's tire not tyre.

The michelin is a great mild AT tire but def not good for mud. Can't really compare to a Duratrac IMO. If you like to mud you need an aggressive AT or a MT tire.

 

He's not wrong, it's tyre in other places. He just doesn't spell it the way you do.

 

The Michelins are awesome! I Got 80,000 miles out of them with on a one ton powerstroke, they have gone over 100,000 on toyotas. Great in everything except deep mud.

 

You sure, I've never heard or seen it actually spelled tyre? Isn't spelling it "different" just spelling it wrong?

 

Very sure. Worked at UPS for almost 2 years. Saw "tyre" written on the side of almost every landing gear tire they had.

 

I've had 2 sets of the AT (not "2") on my '96 4Runner which now has 327K miles on it. Both have gone well over 100K miles with good tread.

I love the tires and will buy them for my new Taco..

 

Yes, he's sure. I know that in "NorCal" Google is only used to shop for pre-runner eyelids and affliction t-shirts, but it can also be used for educational purposes. I would politely suggest using it to find out why someone would spell "tyre" instead of "tire."

 

ouch..i live in NorCal..hate getting caught in the cross-fire.

one downside? you better like them, because they are a challenge to wear out. i took my all seasons thru (through) mud on my hunt trips (tryps <-----okay, messing around here) and never had a problem. mine are the regular LTX,,but hell, it has been so long i dont even look at them anymore.

either the AT2 in the mich or coopers are my next tire.

 

Last time I checked Ohio is still in the USA where it's spelled Tire.

He's saying you should Google why someone would spell tire "tyre". And this is the internet. We're on a website that's dedicated to a truck that is found all over the world. Just because you're in Ohio doesn't mean the rest of us are. So I'll help you out:

"The spelling tyre is used in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand after being revived in the 19th century. Both tyre and tire were used in the 15th and 16th centuries. The United States did not adopt the revival of tyre, and tire is the only spelling currently used there and in Canada."

So like I originally said... it's not wrong, it's just different.

 

Let me help you out, I know that. The guy who spelled it tyre is from Ohio, I live in California.
