Airflow Snorkel Installed

    Finally got my Airflow Snorkel installed. Not for the faint of heart at all...105mm holesaw and then the sawzall by the time it was said and done. After the holesaw the sawzall cut was a piece of cake, and the liquid courage didn't hurt at all. The directions mention an inner fenderwell brace that might have to be modified. In order to fit the elbow that attaches to the snorkel body you have to cut the bottom of the brace off and bend the upper remaining piece in towards the engine bay. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of that, sorry. If anyone else is going to do this install you'll need some of the Fender Liner clips ($.71ea at one online dealer) and possibly Fender Flare clips if you remove them ($3.00ea at one online dealer). I didn't see the need to remove the Flares even though the directions said to. Here are the Toyota P/N's:

    Fender Liner (8-10qty) 90789-A0002

    Fender Flare (2 sizes) "few" of each possible
    Red
    $9 75395-35070 75396-35020
    75395-35070
    Blue 75396-35020

    A couple of the inner fender liner clips can be removed intact and reused. I found the easiest way to remove the others was to cut the "head" off with a straight razor, the plastic is pretty soft. Here's some pics of the ordeal. I covered the hose clamp on the top with a piece of heatshrink to finish it off.

    Pull the inner fender well and you'll be good to go. You probably WILL break those clips though...I just ripped the whole thing out with force when I was cutting for 35s. Don't have the patience fo that shit!

    (you can buy a ton of those clips on ebay fairly cheap too...)

    Agree, don't pull the flares. Some of the inner fender clips you can access the backside and get them out easily. For the others I found that taking a razor blade and just cutting the "top" off was the easiest way to go.
