I always heard that the bottom hinged design limits the motion of the shackle, acting as a poor man's sway bar, if that makes sense. Maybe we are saying the same thing?

Started the process to install mine yesterday. Will have minimal time until Saturday to complete. Motorcycle until then.

I have the Fabtech 6" lift with custom 6" Alcan springs with Allpro u-bolt flips.
I will be installing Freelance Shackle Flips, 12" Fox Resi Shocks, Superbumps.
    Stock shackles for now.

I will let you know the outcome after this weekend.

Very much a bitch to get the stock shackle hangers off but even harder to drill out the rivets once the hanger is removed. Right angle drill is a requirement. BFH and chisel may get a few before you move to drilling.

Oh, remember to fully remove and spin the shackle around. Don't just rotate it around the leaf spring. Doesn't really work that way.

We plasma torched off the heads, then oxy torched and air chiseled the bolt portion. Still incredibly hard.

Ground the rivet heads off, then heated to frame around the rivets and air chiseled them out, wasn't to hard.

Damn should have heated. My small air chisel did nothing for me but give me a headache.

I also had the bed off the truck, took 45 min to get the bed off but saved me so much time and hassle of working around the bed, will do the same when I go to install my spring under kit, just haven't figured out what I want to get yet.

I installed the redesigned ATO shackle flip back in late march. Ground the rivet heads off first. I used a center punch to dent wherever I wanted to drill out, used a heavy duty 1/2" right angle drill to drill out the rivets most of the way, then pounded them out the rest of the way w a 3/8 center punch. (Seemed faster then drilling all the way through).* May want to clamp the spare tire "crossmember" down while drilling, as it is flimsy and flops around a bit while drilling/ pounding on it. I used anti-seize on all bolts, and bought extra washers (I think only one per bolt was provided) .

*Note: remember not to fully tighten the bushings till after the truck's own weight is on itself.

I posted a few pics, (in gallery) but I'm not at a computer, and won't be able to (on vacation atm) till next weekend, but I will if I remember.

I gained about 3/4" or so, and there is really no difference in on-road handling (w sway bar removed, there is already just a bit of body roll). However, articulation has increased greatly. I would definitely recommend their shackle flip.

All depends on how much travel your springs have and how you have the shocks mounted.

I have the Dakar pack and will mount the shocks in the stock location. I am just trying to get an idea of what people with this leaf pack and stock mounting location are running.

oh really? I was worried 11' might be borderline to long. do you know what the specs are on yours (collapsed length, expanded length)?
I was contemplating these if they would work.

    travel extended collapsed
    11.0" 28.10" 17.10"
