im on a furious fucking hunt for one of these

the blade is made from two different steels
rumor has it there's only 500 made, just released

but another rumor has it that only 100 were released to the public

+1 I buy cheap knives because I abuse the crap out of them and then I buy a new one every 8-12 months.

 

Hell I e had a 15 dollar Kershaw for like 5 years. Works great. I brok the tip but just re ground the bald haha

 

I look at it the other way around, I'd rather not have a knife fail on me when I need it so I buy the good shit

I've beaten the crap out of my expensive benchmade for years, never let me down

 

I've got a range. I've got a few expensive ones that live in gear bags and that I use for hunting/camping, and I've got a bunch of cheap Mora's around the house and in the garage. I figure if I dull up or break a $10 knife working around the house it doesn't matter because I can just grab another one, but if I'm camping/hiking/hunting I want something high-quality that I can depend on.

Cops I am friends with explained it to me like this, your a guy, you work there for you are always working. But I don't have a need for a knife with a blade larger than 5.5. The non folding knives I have like my buck knife is not bigger than that. The bastard is like 10-11 inches with the handle, any more and that's just inconvenient

 

No limits on length here in Maine.
But really, carrying around anything longer than 6 inches or so is just manhood compensation. Blades that long are too unwieldy to function as a useful every day knife, unless your daily activities involve renaissance fencing.
