what laser bore-sighters does everyone like to use? i need to get one for use with my .270, but i need to use it with my .50 cal. cva wolf, and my 12 guage mossberg slug gun. i honestly dont know alot about them, but i wanna get one thats versatile, cause sometimes i'll waste rounds sighting in at the range. thanks for the feedback.

Will, I have never used them, on the CVA pull the breech plug and also the bolt on the .270. Set out something say at 40 yards, look through the barrel then through the scope. Most of the time I use my mailbox and put an orange dot sticker on it. 9 times out of 10 I am with in 2 inches when I go to fire it.

On the shotgun with slugs, set the target at 20 to 25 yards and fire a shot, off a bench. Make your adjustments then move the target to 40 yards, fire a shot. From a good bench with the same ammo you should be close. Make adjustments and move to 50 yards, fire another shot and you should be good to go. Most cases I give it 1" high at 50 yards, just in case I need to go out a little more.

I have done this method to Winchesters, Berettas, and Browning's with great luck.

I have used the cheap ones with the caliber adapters. None are gonna put you dead on, but you will get your rounds on the paper without too much waste. Personally, Find one you feel comfortable spending the money on.

Bill.....thank you for the info. i will try this method on the cva wolf i have......and try it on the 12gauge....but on my .270......its a semi-auto......so im not sure about that.

rab......i have a remington 7400 .270 semi-auto. i love it man. along with the .30-06.....to me,its one of the best calibers for most hunting purposes......including elk and such.

Chris............you got a link to the type of boresighters you are talking about?

I've got the cheap Bushnell one in the link, it gets the job done. Sighting in my .22 was a breeze with it. I had to boresight the .17HMR though, boy was that a pain in the ass...
