Went to the Annapolis Sailboat Show this past weekend. there was a small tent for a multirotor services company. they retail DJI, and will build anything you want, mild to wild, but their main business is the actual flight and data capturing they do with their own equipment. Two of the more impressive machines they had on display.......

    Looks like offshorepix.com

I'll say it again... if it has a DJI or 3DR flight controller on it, it's a hobby grade POS...

That GH4 build looks insane. I was also looking in to the X8 configuration for a GH4 / 5D but not sure if I like all the reviews on them or not.

This don't have anything to directly do with a drone but i thought what better place to ask for help about some gimbals for a hand held stabilizer than here.
I've read posts for awhile now and you all seem to know quite a bit about these things.
I've been wanting a hand held stabilizer for my GoPro camera for awhile now.
I've researched all kinds like the curve, etc. and i believe i want to either go with the 3 axis FunnyGo, g3, or just simply make my own from one of the many gimbals on Amazon for under $100.
I've found this one on ebay from the FunnyGo thats regular $300 but on here for $160.
I'm a little nervous on purchasing it for that price.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hifly-Funny...Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20ece62fa6

I've also found this video with a guy making his own (Yes it's not as professional/clean as the others) for around $100. What do you all think is the best option to go with?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXidqXG7dlQ

I'm not concerned really with the look of the stabilizer but i do like the overall better quality you get with the gimbal overtop of the non electronic ones.

I'd go with this one myself if I didn't have a reason to put it on a multirotor. Unless you need 3 axis which will also cost more money. These also ship from the US and not China. The stick is kinda short but add your own broom handle :anonymous: for a few bucks and a couple of zip ties.

Yea I've seen the G3 too. The funnygo version got better ratings but is also a tad more. That's why I just thought about making my own from a gimbal from Amazon.

I always say DIY. You will learn something new, and when / if it breaks you can fix it yourself.

Still need FC, dunno which one I will go with.. I might try a pixhawk. Was flying the 550 around and swapped to GPS hold and the damn thing flew away and landed in a bush lol. No damage though.

I hear those Naza's can do that from time to time. My next FC is definitely a pixhawk. I hear so many good things about them.

Which gimbal did you get for the nikon?

I just started ordering parts for my upgrade. The new arms should put me somewhere around 900mm-950mm up from 650. So now I can really look at a wider array of motor/prop combos.

A cheap one from ebay, 3 axis, and bought the motors from hobby king. I think I spent $250 on everything, I just have to assemble it and tune it.

I also ordered my first FPV setup I will put on the 680, we will see how that goes lol.

Ah nice! I got my mobius and now the goggles are waiting for me to pick up at the post office. So hopefully I'll be having some FPV fun this weekend!
