    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    and also removing the secondary filter as well

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    I have seen some dyno tests that show no difference in h.p. with the carbon filter removed or installed. I havent done the tests myself, but the guy that did is very reputable.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    the airflow is definately increased w/ it taken out on the 4cyl or the v6...i think the people on here were seing better mpg gains w/ the removal of the 4cyl one vs. the v6 filter removal. i was getting almost 21 mpg w/ the lift, 32" bfg's, the secondary filter removed, and a k&n drop in before i put on the full k&n intake

    Auxilllary backup lights, removed secondary filter,
    I ripped my secondary filter out today. Flat head screw-driver in one corner, lift it up....all fingers the rest of the way. Heck with driling the pop rivets.

    all i did was cut a slit in the charcoal and rip it completely out....

    I thought about doing that....but I was concerend that there would be junk falling back into the intake tube.

    I take it that no charcoal junk fell out. Thats good.

    nope....but i also did wipe out the intake box, just in case there was something i couldnt see...but now i have the k&n system, so i dont have to worry about it...although i may go back to the stock system w/ an afe dry filter b/c i think i'll get better mileage
