Thinking of running a drawer on each side. One for spare parts, one for kitchen eq in front of the axle and recess a tool box behind the axle. Spare tire out back on a swing out.

With the taco springs in it it ahould move the axle foward 12-13".

The main reason I'm getting it is so I can pull the backhoe with one of are water trucks (paystar5000) legally and after I get some experience I'll be looking to get a job over the road

Nice start the one thing I don't like about short trailers is the short tongue they turn to quickly and are pain in the ass to correct but for offroad use I'm not sure what be good

You need some length to the tongue so that it's not in your tailgate when go up and down hills.

YUCK.....You do NOT like sitting in a office, try sitting in a cab 1200 miles from home in rush hour traffic with 4 hours "legal driving time left" and 6 hours to your destination
and you are paid by the mile NOT hourly....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your homework on this..;) Regional would be better $$$$ and you are in the "Sweet spot" for the Florida West Coast to get home....

I was just about to say,, Short tongue they get squirelly and Jack knife to easy. Add about 1.5 to 2ft to the tongue. might help. I have a short tongue on my boat trailer but i pay it no attention. it is very I guess "sensative" tho

I have heard teams make the best dough OTR. Good for retirement couples. However, I used to work with a dude that drove over the road. He said he saw the entire country and he loved it.

the farther the weight back on the trailer, more sway you will have, you need to find more weight for the front.

Get your "time in" with the water truck/trailer combo then see what they say.....;)

Bach in Bushnell and Middlesex over in Leesburg are just a few off the top of my head to stay in "Dirt" or you open up many more towards Tampa... Jasons Hauling and Danny Mullins come to mind.....

If I had to choose between a 3-5 year roadie with 300-400k highway miles or someone with 6-12 months local trailer/tank off-on road experience.......guess what ???

It will come down to what you want out of your adventure I "worked" my a$$ off leased to Silver Sands but got paid well.....my 2nd truck was leased to S&R Transport and if we had stayed in Florida ,I would still be there.....

This could go on for pages BUT I will quit here.............Be Smart, Be CaREFUL AND "IF IT FEELS RIGHT" just do it....

Then you have CCC ,Southeastern Freightways and Conway who like to hire experienced CDL B's with the "want to" for Class A.....all have progressive steps to make you big $$$$$$...

Thats really interesting. I drive between 150-200 miles per night in a 10 hour shift. However, my Tahoe lacks many of the creature comforts of a rig...hahaha. I do take my dog with me tho!!!! Bout the only benefit i guess..

    Expediting Teams = Mucho-$$$$$$$$

Con and I went to a Large Truck Show and both Panther & FED-EX Custom were drooling over teams....Straight trucks, Class B BUT with Haz & tank....$$$$$$$$$

We tried the "road thing" newly married ,I was on with United Van Lines ,Maine to Florida as a leased driver nice $$$$ but never home...

One of the biggest reasons we moved to Florida in the 90's.....My Kenworth brought me home every night to see my 2 and 4 year old kids...

As you drive your "shift" pull into a rest area or truck stop and watch the "New breed"......drive through parking spaces....extraaaaa long swing areas and bright yellow poles protecting buildings, islands and even the "Cat Scales".....If they would allow outsiders many of the DC's could have you laughing...."roadies" drop their trailers while the "yard dogs" now back them into docks .......DO NOT even go there with off road dirt work or even backing into a paver   :(

CL has ads running right now for CDL A training PLUS a job....in 3 weeks WTF ??????? but when you pay 30-40 cents a mile ......:notsure::thumbsup:

K9 all kidding aside.retired Cops made out to be our safest operators and drivers PLUS they did not mind shorter weeks...40-48 hours was plenty and they took great care of their equipment.....hmmmmmmmm I wonder why that is ???
