ANYONE INSTALL A BUMPER HITCH BALL IN A 2014

Where I can find the info of how to install a hitch ball in the bumper. My 2014 have the hitch below the bumper.

 

Why?

If you have a real hitch, that's what you should be using to tow with. Not the bumper.

 

I want to install in the bumper 1" 7/8 for lite loads. For the hitch I have 2" and 2" 5/16

 

Well that plastic piece comes off and id guess u just make a hole in the center for the threaded part of the ball to go thru. Couldnt be too hard

 

Not sure how your receiver hitch mounts to your truck, but in addition to bolting onto the frame, mine, and others that I've seen, also bolts to the steel plate in the center of the bumper. I know that on mine there's no way to bolt a ball to the bumper because of that. I think it would be easier to purchase another receiver with a 1 7/8 ball and change it out when you needed it.

 

the bumper comes with the hole. I think I have to remove the hitch and then install the ball

 

Just get another hitch ball - this time 1 7/8"

I'm guessing you can't even mount a ball on the bumper while the receiver is in place.

I just keep a 2" in the truck. Everything I've ever needed to pull has been a 2", but then I'm not pulling a car hauler or anything super tiny.
